Have tried to come here more than five times and they are always closed. I see people inside now, but was just told they are closed. Extremely poor customer service by the person who literally shooed us away. Try anywhere else.

Hours say 11-7? More like maybe if they feel like opening they will.

5 year old enjoyed Otter Trotter (splash pad) and 7 year old loves the wave pool... and going ALL the way to the deep end! Rather crowded (as expected for a weekend).... But since we didn't come until after 4pm, I was able to grab a chair and a shady spot to watch. Closes at 6pm. (This year, ONLY South Bay Shores and the little kid section are open on Tuesdays!)

My kids had a blast at South Bay Shores. Minus 2 stars as there is no separate entry just to access the water park..You have to walk from the entrance all the way to the back of GA to access South Bay Shores. Why not make a separate entry from the parking lot just for people who want to access the water park?!

Neither great nor bad. This is the first Waterpark ive been to this year. When we went 99% of the kids slides were closed and the Otter Trotter was closed, manned by lifeguards constantly blowing their whistle. Positives about the waterpark, its great for families. Was able to take my son on the lazy river, tide pool area, and pups pier. Like the abundance of lounge chairs throughout the area. Downsides: food we ordered was COLD @ Pier 76 Cafe, lifeguards making a fun time with family a hassle, and attractions being closed. I will be going back this month or next and hopefully i'll have a better experience

So far so gross at the South Bay Shores Cabanas. All surfaces are visibly dusty, grimy and/or greasy. Food options are incredibly sad, none of the restaurants have anything like what is advertised and a ton of the slides are closed on Labor Day weekend. Really the only thing going for it is that it's cute. Feeling very mislead and disappointed.

South Bay Shores is a new waterpark located in Great America. Great America has always had a small waterpark . They have expanded. Much of last year South Bay Shores was under construction until coronavirus happened and everything was halted. South Bay Shores is a great addition to Great America!! They did a wonderful job designing the park. There is new slides , new restaurants , & lots of places to sit. I love that they put a new wave pool & lazy river. It's so much fun!! I'm a person who doesn't like slides so this is awesome!! There is lockers you can rent to put your belongings in . Even extra large lockers if you have lots of stuff!! There is cabanas at the wave pool that you can rent . Next to the wave pool there is Sand Bar. You can get a beer on tap & a flatbread pizza. There is a dip and dots cart located on property. What's also really nice is that they offer changing rooms & bathrooms . So there really is never a line for the bathroom. And if you want to just change into your swim clothes you don't have to go to the bathroom. As far as the restaurants go I feel they need to get it together!! Lines are ridiculously long . I was in line over a hour and you could see people were getting very upset. First time I went to the park I ate at Pier 76. Everyone in our party did not care for it. Food was not hot and tasted like it has been sitting out . And it was all horribly expensive!! Second time I went to Shark Bites. My daughter's got a hot dog meal & a cheeseburger meal. I got a LA Hot Link meal. We all enjoyed it very much!! Was bomb. They charge $11 for Trulys. That's horrible!! Way to expensive. But food is really good here. We got a Great White Shark beer on tap at Sand Bar. It did not taste the same. I don't know it was off . Like I was given the wrong beer. Sand Bar was supposed to have Fish Tacos. But unfortunately they have a very limited menu ( 2 items) due to COVID-19. Ridiculous. As far as the slides only 2 of 4 drop slides are open. And it's been like that since we were there 3 weeks ago. Which makes the lines so long!! It's summer everything is opened up what is up with that !! Come on GA come through! There is no shade while you are waiting in these huge lines for the slides and you get horribly sun burned. Make sure to put lots of sunscreen on . I hope they get their full menu soon. And I hope they open up the rest of the slides soon. Especially before summer is over. South Bay Shores is definitely a fun place to have water fun!!
