3-17-20 I stopped into the store today, to grap a cookie and I was completely surprised the store was so cleaned and the employees welcomed me in and expressed that they when sanitizing all the table and chairs. Although the corna-19 has all dealing with the fear and I felt safe walking through the store. Thank you, "Virginia" management!

This is a nice place to hang out with friends, good food for a good price, and nice people for staff. They bake their popular chocolate chip cookies several times a day and still run out quickly; so order the cookie first because even if it's not ready while ordering they'll reserve it for you by the time you're done with your meal.

The reason why I'm giving 1 star because employees here doesn't how to wash their hands after using the restroom and that's VERY DISGUSTING! 1) I was waiting and standing behind the employee washing her hands but it turns out, she just rinsed it with water. That was fast... 2) as I was walking to go/use the bathroom, another employee was trying to do her business as well. It was just d 2 of us. You know when someone doesn't wash their hands after using the bathroom. Here's the sequence: you'll hear a FLUSH, WATER RUSHING (coz ur washing ur hands) HAND DRYER or PAPER TOWEL, and the DOOR. that girl, I didn't hear the water rushing or rubbing that freaking hands with soap and paper towel dispensing!!!!!!!! I just hear the flush and the door opened! When it's a small bathroom u can hear everything. I'm not trying to follow someone here. it's just when u drink a lot of coffee and water, you will be making a lot of bathroom trips as well. I come here sometimes to study. Pretty convenient..I got coffee and order food when I want to. But after what happened earlier, I'm not so sure anymore.

This place seems a little overpriced for what you get. A lot of open space to sit but it feels more like a cafeteria with the openness and the high ceilings then a coffee shop/lunch spot/cafe. I bought a sandwich and got a sandwich no sides no fancy bread and not filling.

Great sandwiches and coffee drinks custom made. Definitely try the cookies. Their cookies are good. Did I mention the cookies? Unfortunately not open on weekends. Try a cookie.

After spending 9 hours at Kaiser while a family member had surgery I was happy that there was a nearby Specialty's Cafe where we could get a sandwich. My sisters and I ordered three sandwiches 2 roast beef with swiss , lettuce, tomatoes, mayo only and the third being turkey, cheddar, lettuce tomatoes only. Simple right? Well nope! First we only had two sandwiches in the bag yet ordered and paid for three. There was mass confusion as they were unwrapping and rewrapping our sandwiches but finally they handed us our bag and off we went home to eat (disclaimer nobody else was in line as it was a very slow time of day because if it were busy we would have been understanding ). We open our sandwiches and turkey has no tomatoes, ok, no big deal but then the two roast beef and swiss sandwiches had onion, pickle and the worst horseradish all over them. Ugh ugh. Driving back wasn't an option at this point so we call the store yet the corporate office answers. I explain and ask for a door dash but she says no they can't do that. (Can't or won't?) they offer a store credit but you must create an account. ( are you kidding me?) with Customer service being top of mind these days Specialty's is missing the mark and most important three life long fans! Don't stop here! Go to Togo's or Subway believe this ! it will be better Ok horrific service aside there was the smallest amount of meat on our sandwiches that we may have never notice hidden in that yummy bread but when we wiped all the horseradish off the meat to remake on other bread it made us sit back and take note. We ended up asking ourselves what did we pay for?

Across from Kaiser Santa Clara this is a healthier alternative to hospital cafeteria food. I usually get the chicken white bean chili with focaccia. The prices are a little higher than I wish but the quality of food is worth it. Plus I do like that they are closed evenings, weekends and holidays for their employees to enjoy with their families. Delicious cookies when I want to treat myself. I get a couple nd tie them home to share with family for dessert.
The food and coffee is always good here. The staff are super helpful

My sweetheart was across the street in the hospital, and the staff kept offering him food, but with cautionary warnings. "I can get you a chicken sandwich, but you can probably get better food across the street." The sandwiches I bought at Specialty's were delicious and sustained him until I got him home!"
