Terrific place for Mexican food. The highlights for me are the surf & turf burrito and the barbacoa tacos (which are absolutely loaded with meat). Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars are the prices. It's more pricey than other Mexican food places in the SCV.

Ordered the Takiadilla, looked like they were grounded & topped on the quesadilla but not mine. The "chef" tossed them inside a dry tortilla... Ordered the keto taco, came with more wilted lettuce than anything & the cheese was burnt. The pico de gallo looked a couple days old & if it weren't for the mango habanero salsa I would've asked for a refund

Haven't ordered food (actually ordered and canceled). Server was extremely rude. No prices listed on the table menus, so you have to stand and look up at the menu above the counter. Stupid. Chips were served, without asking, even though they cost $3.It was cold. AC was high, even though it was a cold day. Music was playing loudly, and when I asked the server to lower the volume, she acted as she was doing me a favor, because another customer asked for high volume music.

First impressions were great, there was no one else in the restaurant but as soon as we walked in the lady at the register asked how we wanted to sit and there was 12 of us so she quickly proceeded to put a table together for us and along came the owner to help her out. Which not many owners even show their face. The food was great, it literally tasted home made. Portions are top tier for sure, especially in this economy! The chef/ owner said they’re his grandmas recipes which really touched my heart. He came out to check on us as we were finishing up and really showed he cared. Him and his sons staredted this business and you can tell he has dedication and is very proud, hope they make it far!The only thing I wish I would have said something about was the music, it felt like an antro (or club) in there and we all had our little kids including a baby. Hopefully that’ll change next time.

Worst chilaquiles ever. Didn't come with rice and beans. Was very dry. Sauce didn't have much flavor. No cheese. Definitely not worth the price. They didn't give me any salsa either. Won't return.

The restaurant needs improvements and repairs. The service was just ok. The food was not impressive or subpar. This place has location advantage by being next to the movie theater. Otherwise, I would choose another place to eat Mexican food in a heartbeat.

Do not sleep on this restaurant! From the fajitas, to the barbacoa tacos... to the iced cold beers. This place is our new spot. Thank you, Maria, for all of the recommendations. We will be back soon!

My husband and I eat here regularly and always leave full and happy. Its a family owned and run business. Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing - every time we try something new we leave with new favorites. Highly recommend!

I'm honestly shocked at how horrible the service is here. This is our second time visiting Patio Tapatio and it will be our last. We decided to give them another shot after not having a great first experience there but today was even worse, the staff was incredibly rude and the food was mediocre at best and WAY overpriced (my husband paid $1 for 2 extra containers of salsa and they were both less than halfway full...) We really wanted to like this place but it really isn't worth the money, if you want good Mexican food I'd recommend going anywhere else in the city! :)
