Not a safe place. First, this place smells like urine and day old movie theater popcorn. Second, it has inexperienced bar tenders that couldn't hold down adoormann job. Third, the staff attacked a dog that was minding its own business. The moment I walked in, I could see the bar tender reaching across the bar to forcibly take a customers nearly full glass out of his hand in the middle of him drinking, making a mess everywhere, and then the tall , thin, bearded bartender (that used to be a bouncer and has no bartenders license ) punched the customer who then fell off his stool. Breaking the customers eyeglasses... like a thug.. wasn't enough. He then cast antisemitic slurs before he instructed the staff to attack the customers dog. Staff began to punch and strangle the dog, for no apparent reason, it was not aggressive nor barking at anyone, and the bar tender had an issue with the customer, not the dog. So why attack the dog?! This was a strange altercation, started by the bartender. And I personally will not be going back there unless the staff is purged. Nobody should patron an establishment that kicks dogs after claiming to be dog friendly. I was terrified for the dog, and it will likely never trust people again. If I were the dogs owner I would sue Brady's.

Drove down from SF and wandered into the bar to have a couple of drinks while waiting for friends to arrive from out of town. Super friendly staff and customers. Drinks were very well priced and the music was great. Was very happy and look forward to dropping by the next time I pass through Santa Cruz.

I had an unfortunate experience. I'm from Germany, and I was sitting outside waiting for a friend when a drunk girl, who wasn't very attractive, approached me and said something about not having beer outside. I couldn't quite understand her because she was intoxicated. I wanted to take my last sip and leave, but she slapped the beer out of my hand, breaking one of my teeth! An employee came out, and the girl told him I had been drinking outside, but he just went back in without resolving the situation. I'm going to press charges, and I hope it was caught on camera today. There was no security at the door or anything! Even if it wasn't on camera, I took down her license plate number. Nobody told me I couldn't drink outside!

Came down with my best friend from idaho absolutely LOVE this dive bar , best dive bar in Santa Cruz HANDS DOWN ! atmosphere is great service is great I'm coming back every year to this bar while in Santa
There's nothing I love more than a good old-fashioned salt of the Earth dive bar. The bartenders here are super friendly and the people hanging out offer the same vibe. They have an amazing outdoor patio, a pool table, and their front bar is perfect for a quick drink and a chat about the days activities. My wife and I stayed here for about two+ hours and just soaked in the local conversations. Drinks here will set you back about $5 each, which is a steal in today's rough economy. I've only been to Santa Cruz once, but I feel like this will be my go-to spot every time I'm in the area.
