Great place to grab a sandwich! They offer a selection of cold and hot sandwiches, as well as hot and cold sandwiches ready to go and breakfast burritos. They have all your usual near-the-beach drinks, and a few other things you may need on day to day life. The staff were all friendly, and the sandwich was great and well priced.

Just tried my husband's left over pulled pork sandwich. OMG...so good, even cold! I'll be hitting Deke's up for a hot one ASAP.
The BEST French Dip on the west coast
Friendly, convenient neighborhood market & deli. Incredible selection of beer, wine, nonalcoholic drinkables, chips, candy, baked goods etc. Steller group of pleasant staff and Deke himself is a gem.

Restaurantji Recommends
Meat and condiments are good. Bread is lacking, somewhat stale, and could taste better. Combined flavors with each bite are average at best. Nothing special going on. It's your grandma's sandwich with the expired bread she picked up on discount.
Santa Cruz has such mediocre places to eat that people genuinely think this is good. It's not horrible, but nothing I'd come back to.

Best sandwiches in Santa Cruz! I recommend the Hippie Tri-Tip, so good, but I've had many of the other ones and have never been disappointed. This place is not to be underestimated, if you are hungry, this is the place to be!
