Not worth the money, essentially paid for food poisoning.

Servers are nice but service is slow and inconsistent. Fish was dry, food was cold and my boyfriend got food poisoning. Safe your stomach and your money!

Really great dinner for date night! The kampachi and duck fat popcorn was bomb.

Fun semi-industrial vibe. A little pricey for amount of food per dish. Food was excellent but for example, 3 large scallops over cabbage with a nice cauliflower sauce ran about $60. Drinks are well executed however served in small glasses and/or with a lot of ice. Quality is great but quantity of all items purchased left a bit to be desired. Would recommend. We’d go back more often if quantity matched the price a bit closer.

My experience here from start to finish was phenomenal. The attention to detail with the amazing staff, the drink options and the food was on point. Walked in and had a quick sit at the bar - had the mussels and grilled oysters. So…Soooo good! 👊🏼 the freshness, the depth of flavor. Just amazed.

Crab was delicious! Calamari was tasty but a tad chewy. Service very good. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

I really like this restaurant. Santa Cruz has very little else that serves great seafood in interesting ways. My only complaint is that the portions are on the small side and the prices are on the high side. Also, our particular waitperson was not that helpful with a lot of things. We asked her to separate drinks from the food bill which seemed really hard for her to figure out how to do for some odd reason. But she tried.

So, I'm a former restaurant manager first off.
On paper this place should have been perfect for me.
Higher end yet affordable-ish seafood bar. In Santa Cruz?!
Sign me up!
Well... wait though, when we arrived right before 5pm there were four tables sat and a full staff.
The couple ahead of us made 6 tables all 5 tables with 2 heads 1 table with 4 heads.
It took us 15 minutes to put in a drink order and 20 before we could place an order for apps.
I asked what kind of aperitif they had for a spritz. They politely brought back a list and then gave me an Aperol Spritz instead of the Capelletti that I ordered.
Not a big deal, I like Aperol. I don't mind.
Let me tell you though if I've had 1000 Aperol Spritz this was the worst. I've never had anyone mess one up, but I fixed it with a splash of soda water. No big deal.
The trout appetizer ruined it. It was awful. Lox style trout sliced thin with ikura (nice). . . With some sort of... lemon? A top toasted white bread. And I do mean TOASTED WHITE BREAD.
Two servings bite sized. Awful and frankly... kind of insulting. Like we're supposed to mistake that somehow for quality because it was overpriced for what it was.
We tried a tinned tuna belly with toasted bread. That was good... but not better than buying a tin of smoked fish from trader Joe's and toasting some bread.
The service was lazy and inattentive - though we spent 80 dollars on apps and our first round of drinks.
I actually just tipped 5 dollars even, me, a former restaurant manager... for me that's a big deal. It was awful and that tip was the equivalent of someone else leaving without tipping or leaving a penny.

Great menu to pick from. The kampachi was delicious and delightful. I was greeted with a smile and had a seat in minutes. Food arrived quickly. Server was friendly and polite. I definitely will be back. Their seafood menu has a lot of options to try.

Incredibly inconsistent with the food. One day it could be good, the next day it's sub par. Even worse, if two people at the table order the same thing they can come out differently.

We loved what Chef Santos did over at Discretion so we were very hopeful about this place. We gave it a few tries but it's honestly not very good and would still be disappointing at half the price.

Two stars because all the cocktails we've tried are really good.
