Went there with 20 minutes until closing and the employee working said he was closing and couldn't make a coffee. For real?? You can't take 3 minutes to make a coffee when youre actually STILL OPEN. Lazy and rude- will not be back here

Ordered through Doordash and they were out of what I ordered and all I got was a sorry note and NO REFUND. It's upon the merchant, not Doordash to initiate the refund. There's no phone number to call them either which is very annoying.

i've always walked by lulu carpenter's and have never stopped by. a friend recommended i give it a try and i'm so glad i did. Emma was an absolute sweetheart and was so patient explaining to us some of the unique drink items. she also gave some drink suggestions and provided the best service despite being the only barista (it was 830pm). NEW ORLEANS. you better not sleep on this drink. it's a cold brew, with milk, and a touch of sweetener.. i died and went to heaven y'all. they have every milk option under the sun -- allowing time with dietary restrictions to enjoy their drinks. plenty of tea options for the tea lovers too! the inside is so cute and unique since it's inside an old building. it's located in the heart of downtown santa cruz, and i absolutely love that it's open early and closes late. BIG fan of lulu carpenter's and can't wait to come back! (honestly, probably tomorrow morning)

Used to be an icon, now it's only a shadow of it's former self. It used to be buzzing with energy till midnight and I used to study inside. Now it's very limited inside and it closes early. Definitely doesn't have the same charm. I'm sad for those who won't get that experience now and in the future.

I was curious about the negative reviews and after stumbling into a response from the BUSINESS MANAGER I refuse to visit this place. Unbelievable that this person owns the business and responded PUBLICLY in this manner.

The coffee is low acidity and smooth, the coffee shops could be a bit cleaner and they are out of a lot things often. The downtown location in the old historic bank building is the only place I ever enjoy.

My boyfriend and I went to Lulu Carpenter’s for the first time and had a terrible experience. The drinks came out fast but my boyfriend’s drink was cold and we asked for it to be reheated. We also ordered some food. After waiting for 45 minutes we went back to check on our food and they hadn’t even started making it! We waited another 30-45 minutes and got our food. When we got it, my order was wrong, so I had to wait even longer for it be remade. Even after all this waiting, the food was not good. The eggs weren’t even seasoned. We were both starving at this point but barely touched our food.

Beautiful cafe, barista was great. The chai was really good, a little spicy and not too sweet. The seating out front was nice, but I wish the back garden was open again. Would go again.

I was impressed by the dignified care my server took of the unsheltered person ahead of me. ?

Beautiful location. Very friendly service. The mocha we got was okay, but the flavor was not as chocolatey as expected. The regular coffee was not very hot. Maybe because it was close to closing time. It turned cold after we added milk. Good selection of milks to add. Will probably not return.Parking: Street is one way. Some metered street parking.

What a treat to run thru there drive thru coffee spot on Thanksgiving day. The owner was so friendly ,approaching the car with his doggie treat jarafter spotting my tail wagger in my lap.We just finished a hike on the bluffs at Davenport landing .So even the pup was feeling the good vibes here. Thank you for all your energy today .My mocha was amazing and your almond croissant out of this world . I appreciate your kindness and classy service A huge upgrade from what this spot used to be. Making Santa Cruz a better place Get your coffee and homemade goods here. Will Not disappoint

I love Lulu’s downtown but the new one on Mission St is poor. I waited 15 min w only 2 ahead of me because only one person was working. And music was so loud I was getting a headache. Finally, the layout is awkward- not enough space; maximum congestion! Move the drip bar abd open the wasted front counter.

10.8.202312pmHonestly, brought over a date and I expected them to bring our order to our table and give our coffees in actual cup/mug as usual but they didn't do it. Really disappointed I should have gone elsewhere, where they have consistent treatment for ALL their customers. The coffee is okay, no extra love there either.Felt discriminated for the weird treatment.
