The restaurant was cute and had lots of outdoor seating. Food was big portions and really good. The chicken katsu was great and the bbq pork was flavored and juicy. Staff was friendly as well.

My family (wifey & our twin daughters) checked out this spot while on a getaway between Santa Cruz and Monterey back in January (2024). We were looking for a local spot and chose this place near the mall. Once inside, it felt like we were in a hood spot off the beach in Honolulu. The wifey and Twin A both ordered the Kai-Bi Short Rib plate, Twin B ordered the Pono Burger and I ordered the Mahi Mahi plate. Maaaaannnn, everything was delicious!! And the service was wonderful! This will be a go-to spot from now on!

The restaurant provides a cozy atmosphere with both indoor and patio seating available. It's decorated as if you were at a local shack in Hawaii. I decided to try the kalbi short rib which comes with white rice, mac salad and a very little serving of kimchi slaw. The portion is enough to make you pretty full. Unfortunately, the kalbi short rib was overly saucy and salty, leading me to suspect the excessive use of MSG. As a result, I experienced discomfort, including bloating and excessive burping. My stomach was hurting like no other after eating here and made it difficult to fully appreciate the experience.

If you're looking for delicious food served by beautiful people in a place with wonderful atmosphere, then this is the place for you. My only complaint is the slight smell of mildew. Truly give this place a go!

Went in today to order my usual Spicy Chicken Katsu sandwich and was told it would be over $21.00. I understand inflation but over $20 for a sandwich is too much. Lost a customer.

We stopped in for a quick lunch on a drive down the coast. The staff was friendly and the food was good. The only weird thing was that we had to order our food with the bartender by the front.

This past Saturday night, this place said on the door, on yelp, and on google, that they were open until 830 and we got there at 8 and they were already cleaning up. Very disappointed that they wouldnt even make a take out order and lied about the hours because they wanted to go home. This is what happens when you have children running your business. We will not attempt to go back here.

I’ve only ever done takeout here and have always had a bad experience. The food is good, but the staff is unpleasant. Today I went to pick up an order and was charged out by an impatient girl who seemed like she was in a bad mood. She did not welcome me in or anything along those lines. She didn’t even wait for me to be finished paying before leaving. A male worker (who was kind and polite) came by a few minutes later and I let him know that I thought the girl was going to go get my food. Turns out she did not. My food was behind the counter and she just left without finishing up. This isn’t the first time I’ve had the girls that work there be rude and unpleasant. It’s 50/50 in regards to the service which is why I stick to take out and do not come often. In a Hawaiian restaurant you would think they would hire more inviting individuals.
