Had the only vegan option (super burrito). I guess it does the job if you’re hungry but the food lacked any flavor. As a latino, I can say this food is definitely made for the ‘local palate’ (people who can’t handle spices or cilantro).
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood you have to try their soup, amazing.

Solid tacos here! I got a the carnitas, the pastor, and the asada. The best was definitely the pastor, then the carnitas, then the asada. The chips that came with the meal were a bit stale, but overall I was quite happy with the taco experience – would recommend overall!

Great food at good prices. It does get super busy sometimes, but is worth the wait. Best crispy tacos!

Excellent service
Open late, great food and the cheapest I've seen around town.
Leaving my old compliment above to show I did care about this place and showed respect unlike was done to me a few weeks ago. I ordered on the phone as I usually do and the young lady confirmed my order and said my # but I didn't hear it well. When I arrived she said she didn't have my order but I thought she meant it wasn't ready so she watched my sit for 10 minutes and said nothing. When I asked again if it was ready she said she didn't have any order for me that was placed. I confronted her on whether she was the one taking orders which she confirmed but was giving me immense snide facial gestures and eventually said during the exchange "maybe I was too busy" when asked why she confirmed my order but didn't send it to the kitchen. A gentlemen came from the back who I tried to talk to about her and he repeatedly said "no englas" to me even though I know he understood. Another reputable employee who is female and serves there daily was feeling bad for my treatment I could tell but didn't want to speak up about her behavior. In short no one helped or cared that she behaved that way, I have no idea if she was having a bad day but she absolutely didn't care to have my order ready. I have since not gone back which I was initially sad about but taqueria Vallarta treats me with kindness and decency so I have my carnitas regular burrito elsewhere. Shame on the owners for allowing her to treat a very loyal customer that way and not having a supervisor on duty who could handle it professionally and at least say sorry and we'll talk to her about it.

The carne en su jugo was very good. The menudo was also excellent. The burrito was just average. They charged for refills even though it is self serve.

Do not expect any hygiene in the place.
Dish washing wire brush was found in the food and when informed the receptionist the response was “it’s okay”…
Nothing special and that’s okay because this place isn’t trying to be anything it’s not. Very straight forward eatery. Prompt service, fair prices, classic basic ingredients. Complementary chips if you dine in and an open salsa bar. Warning, the salsas are SPICY! (Including the Pico) Great look to the place despite the age. Cushie booth tables, lots of natural light, not claustrophobic. Spanish Mexican decor with a couple of Aztec pieces thrown in there. For what it is, I would have given 4 stars but they got my order wrong. I at least want what I ordered but the item was similar enough and I just wanted to eat.
Overall, very straightforward and no fuss, basic Mexican eatery. With breakfast and popular lunch dishes with familiar beer selections that pair good with the laidback cuisine. Come here if you’re hungry and want something straight forward where everyone is polite and minds their business

Food isn't horrible but far from impressive. Ordered birria and asada tacos, kinda pricey at 3.90 for asada and 4.30 for birria. The birria is goat but honestly has very little flavor, almost nothing like birria and really just like barely seasoned goat meat, doesn't come with any consomme to dip either which is very disappointing. Asada was below average IMO, meat was fairly bland even for carne asada although there was a good portion of it at least. The tortillas are pretty soggy and fall apart making the tacos pretty messy. Salsa is ok, pretty good spice level but too much vinegar for my taste and not enough cilantro flavor, especially in the orange salsa. The chunky salsa and avocado salsa were great though, and the chips are perfectly fine if a little undersalted (though you can add your own salt from the shaker so that's no big deal). Also got a horchata that tasted perfectly average, nothing special but certainly not bad either, just like what you'd expect a horchata from a typical taco shop to taste like. Overall the food doesn't taste bad or have any unpleasant flavors, it's just bland and a bit disappointing especially given the price

This was a last minute choice. We took it to go.
Inside is pretty dingy but there's lots of tables. Fresh salsa bar and on tap frescas.
The salsa wasn't great but it was decent.
Tomatoes tased sour in the Pico and the salsa Verde was bland.
We got shrimp fajitas and an asada burrito.
Burrito was fine minus the salsa inside, it too had that sour tomato taste. Not sure if the salsa was old or what but it was edible.
Shrimp was over cooked but the plate was alright.
We were super hungry after a 3hr drive so it did the job but there's definitely better places.
I paid about almost $40 for all that and one medium drink.
