Calabra

Finally! A restaurant and bar that knows great service. We had a platter to share and the naan bread was so soft and delicious. We then had the branzino which was made with a chimmichuri sauce.
The General Manager Juan gave us some quality time by taking our picture at various spots from the roof top, which we really appreciated.
I liked too that they had organic wine for us 50-something ladies that tend to wine headaches. We will be back!

This was truly the best experience I’ve had in LA so far! Incredible food, impeccable service. A special thank you to Paul, the manager and the team, who really took care of us and made the whole experience unforgettable.

Came for the vegan burger (from a blog recommendation of best vegan burgers in LA) It's not listed on the menu. But their burger - they make it vegan. And wow. It was SOOO DELICIOUS! The patty was excellent 👌 and they make it themselves! I thought it was an impossible patty at first but then I had to ask. They add a creamy vegan cheese and the sauce that is in the burger is just wow (tomatoes with fig?) vegan brioche obviously - I wish all non vegan restaurants did that this restaurant has done. Get informed on how to make an amazing vegan dish. This is what a vegan dish should be like. Filling. Tasty as hell.

10 years vegan so I'm picky with my vegan burgers. I'll be back whenever I visit LA again!

Actually the side salad was th only thing that was very basic. When I'm back I'll get the fried that sounded really goooood 😊. I'm dure if they can do this burger, they can make the vegan version of the salad a lot more interesting too.

What a lovely brunch…rooftop restaurant in the Proper Hotel (With beautiful lobby and aesthetic welcome), good food (crispy latke starter and Calabra egg dish, good service…just pleasant and a nice find … lots of healthy options.

Food, Ambience and Service were STELLAR. The staff could not do enough for us. This was my second time at Calabra and it's been consistently great.

All the dishes were great, including the appetizers. But a very short menu with few choices. A bit noisy for my taste, but that is true almost anywhere. Note that all seating is outdoors.

I had an amazing experience at Calabra in the Proper Hotel in Santa Monica. The food is consistently great, and the ambiance—especially during the summer—is unbeatable. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed rooftop lunch with beautiful views.

I’ve also had nothing but great customer service. Ramiro, who often takes care of us, is incredibly nice, friendly, and always recommends the best food options. He’s truly one of the reasons I enjoy coming back. The pricing is reasonable, and their burger is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend Calabra!

Excellent vibe, food, and service. Was disappointed that minutes after paying our $600+ tab with a generous tip for our (great) server, we were asked by the (I believe) manager if we could finish our drinks in the hotel lobby so others could have our table. We had been at the table less than 2-hours and the table next to us had been seated at their table longer than us. They were polite and offered us a round of drinks, but was somewhat off putting to be rushed out so quickly, as if once the bill was paid, we were no longer valued. Will still go back, and hope they have improved their reservation management.

I went for dinner at Calabra a few night ago. It was an amazing experience ! The food and drinks were amazing. Still thinking about the dips and the chicken dish !!! If that wasn't enough, the manager Paul made sure we were set for our whole time there!

Great spot with a warm, inviting ambiance and surprisingly good food for a hotel bar. The drinks were excellent as well. The only downside is that everything feels a bit overpriced.

Nice brunch spot with beer cocktails, juices,. smoothies and a variety of dishes. Be sure to get a reservation, peak hours get busy.

My first job was in a hotel, so always appreciate amazing staff because I know how hard they work. Juan and Kim have made my time at the rooftop excellent! I just want to give them a little shout. You can tell Juan does NOT play about the details and it shows in the best way. Omar and Hayden we great too. You can tell this staff is a well-oiled, thoughtful machine. And my Caesar with salmon was SO good. The salmon managed to be crispy on the skin but perfectly tender.

I was surprised to see a mezze plate with only one singular item. We ordered a sweet potato mezze plate and it had 2 mini sweet potatoes split in half with nothing else. We also ordered cauliflower and got broccolini. We ordered a rice dish and the rice wasn't fully cooked with a slight crunch it was seasoned phenomenally but definitely undercooked. I was told we were getting a complimentary dessert for my bffs birthday and they added the dessert to the bill. It was baklava but in no way did it taste like the traditional dessert. The place was cute and the hostess and staff were awesome but the food missed the mark.

Lunch menu on the large plates feels inadequate in choices. Perhaps the branzino which they offer in the evenings would be a good addition. It needs couple of additional choices. Also the space during daytime is starting to show some wear and needs some tending to.
