Worst jerk chicken ive ever had by FAR. Rice and beans and cabbage were good. It was weird, my friends mild jerk chicken had very dark sauce on it. Mine have a very light sauce, same mild jerk. Although mine had bones, his looked like boneless bites. Wither way, Your better off making your own with some store jerk sauce. Itd be wayyyyy better
Coconut fried chicken is delicious! Staff is friendly. Nice little island vibe.
Best Black Beans and Plaintains in Santa Monica Great Prices!
Can not get more Cali than Cha Cha. Loved the food. Loved the atmosphere. Staff were so welcoming felt like a local. Cha cha chicken plate is perfection.
Amazing food with friendly people serving us. Especially the chicken sandwich was amazing.
Some of the best fried chicken and Caribbean food I’ve ever had. And this is coming from someone who lived in a Caribbean neighborhood in NYC for a decade. Highly recommend everting except for the Salmon Negril. It was overcooked and a small piece of fish with honestly not the best flavor. Everything else is fire. Just remember, you’re in Santa Monica near the tourist area so the prices are a little higher than you’d expect.
Big flavors and a personality to match from a small shack in Santa Monica.
The atmosphere here is really cool, especially if you luck out with the weather. Even though it’s by the populated beach, it’s tucked away enough to provide seclusion from the bustling boulevards.
I got the Cha Cha Chicken served hot and this chicken was perfectly cooked — I was able to take off the entire drumstick in one gulp with barely having to chew. While I do think it can be hotter, the depth of flavor was warm in a comforting way. The dish also came with Dirty Rice, which was quite a hearty bite and brimming with textual variation from the beans, and fried plantains that were delectably sweet.
While that was definitely tasty, the Beef Empanadas are a must get! They are like meat filled hush-puppies, the batter was expertly fried with a great crispy exterior while preserving a moist interior. The beef itself was seasoned well and pairs perfectly with the sweet popping sauce with balanced out the intense spice mixture.
All and all, Cha Cha Chicken will make for a fun, quick and satisfying addition to anyone’s day at the beach.
One of my favorite restaurants of all time.

My fiancé and I absolutely love this place! Every time we come in the area we drive 3 1/2 hours and this is our first stop every time! We were recently in town and we ate here twice between two days. The food is always consistent and so flavorful! It may look like a hole in the wall, but it is the best food around!

Best carribean food I’ve had in the states. Hands down. I’m surprised that there isn’t a line for it going all the way down the street.
This is a go to restaurant for us. The food is amazing, especially the jerk chicken enchiladas.
The red cabbage was seriously great. The chicken was seriously gross. So overcooked, I could not believe it. Their delicious hot sauce could not redeem to overcooked chicken. Sorry guys, maybe I just showed up too late?
