I ate here once months ago and it was delicious even wrapped my burger in lettuce. Though they don't understand what rare is. Was a bit more medium than the rare I ordered. But now this place is never open. I have been there three times in the last month and all those hours on the wall so they should be open there is no one there and the gates are locked. It's been closed every time. What gives? Is it in bussiness or not? Unclear. I won't be trying a 4th time.

+3 stars for a pretty decent grass fed burger. Classic style - no frills here, just a good ole burger to sink your teeth into, and feel satiated from. -2 stars for pretty disappointing french fries (soggy) and very very very slow service. Street parking, great if you're hanging out on Main Street in Santa Monica and feel a hunger pang come on, and you just neeeeeeeed some meat meat meat. Same owners as Holy Guacamole, next door, from what I hear.

Got the double bacon avocado cheesburger and it was kinda like something you'd get at some hole in the wall, basically what this place is. Except the price tag. I dont know how this guy thinks he can charge so much for a such a basic burger. Tastes like i was at a carnival, def not up to the standards of what food on main st should be. If you're into basic american cheeseburgers and paying too much for low quality food, look no further! Don't think this place will last long.

Honestly thought given the area and the rent they must have to pay that this would be a way better burger. In N out, McDonald's, habit, five guys, all way better burgers. This is a convenient spot but their burgers suck. Fries are pretty damn good though I'll give them that.

Great local joint. Their Chipotle mayo chicken sandwich is my favorite. And it's fast, so perfect if you wanna just grab something before or after hitting the beach.

Cowabunga Republic is my new favorite place for burgers in Santa Monica. I really like their location and how late they stay open, too. I decided to order the grass fed cheeseburger and split it with my boyfriend after a night of galavanting around town-- we were starving and this was an absolute treat. The meat and cheese melts in your mouth and hit just right. All of the condiments brought the whole burger together very nicely. I will be recommending this establishment to friends and family and will be back when my burger cravings hit again. I'd also like to note that I mistakenly left my wristlet on a bench. Someone kindly turned it in and I was able to retrieve my lost item the next day. Thanks to the staff for looking out!

My second visit to this neighborhood burger spot. Order @ counter, street front outdoor (covered) seating only with great people watching along Main Street. Oh, the food! Simple menu, regular, grass fed and impossible burgers, McDonald's like fries, endless soft drinks...others; chili, shakes. I had grass fed burger; Quality meat/flavor, crisp lettuce, tomato, pickle, traditional hamburger bun, fries crispy...simple but delicious!!! Add-ons 1000 island, grilled O's. A combo; burger fries drink...under $12, on Main Street, wow!
