What a charming and welcoming establishment that is spoilt by the owners young unruly, 9-10 year old child , climbing all over the bar area. He then sat next to me having layed on the bar and watched YouTube on his laptop , I asked him to turn down his volume twice and put his headphones on at which point he threw a tantrum. We just bought a bottle of lovely chilled wine from the equally great staff and left. Let’s hope the owner sorts it out so we can all enjoy his really cool slick place in a nice adult way. I’m all for kids being around providing they are well behaved

We popped in for a late afternoon drink , a charming place , great staff , really attentive and polite, however having an owners Young son , probably aged 9 , running around and crawling over the bar area is not appropriate in a bar area. He then proceeded to seat himself next to me at the bar and open his laptop and start to listen with his volume up to YouTube, when I asked him to pop his headphones on he got stroppy and grudgingly turned the volume which he turned back back up shortly afterwards. As a parent I would not find this appropriate behaviour in this environment and perhaps the owners might take a view regarding this ? With this I mind we bought a bottle of there very nice chilled rose wine and took it home instead of staying.

Delicious food. Friendly atmosphere. The warm sardines were incredible. The sandwiches looked great. Caesar salad, very tasty, maybe the teeniest bit overdressed and a pretty big heap of anchovies which was too much for me. Salmon and asparagus yum. Pomodoro not as al dente as I prefer. Seemed like maybe they were short of staff because family members were filling in and it was a little bit odd but we were there early. BUT I would totally go again. Oh! The artichoke appetizer. Extra special YUM.

I began my journey at Heroic for lunch with a friend. He told me that i had to go to this place and have the best sandwich in the world. We went to Heroic and I ordered the OMG sandwich, which is named perfectly, Oh my God, it was the best ever. I asked my waiter if they were open for dinner, because lunch was so amazing. To my excitement they said it was and I invited 8 of my surf buddies to dinner. I wanted to treat them to an amazing meal, and wow was it amazing! Better than I imagined. I have been back 3 more times for dinner with my wife and friends and can't wait to go back again. I rarely write reviews, but had to in this case. Treat yourself to an amazing lunch or a special dinner, I promise, you will be the next person to write such a glowing review.

What a great dinner and a wonderful evening we all had. A great spot right at 5th & Santa Monica. Food was fabulous...they do need to work on their Cannolli's<; Otherwise a big A- overall and that is pretty good!! Our server VIRGINIA was great and a Young Man from Koln was fantastic as well. We will be back.

The restaurant was pretty empty for a Saturday night, so we were seated quickly. Very friendly staff. I had the short rib with polenta. I have tried a lot of short ribs, and theirs was good, but the flavor wasn't the best I have had. My wife said the linguini and clams needed more flavor, maybe more salt.

We have known the place for many years now but have never had a chance to review the goodness of the restaurant. It is really good food, and we highly recommend trying it at least once, you will fall in love with it. I agree with those who say that the carbonara is one of the best dishes. Really good!

We got several things to eat, of course as a good Italian restaurant we could not miss the pasta carbonara. Having Italian origins, I greatly enjoyed the Roman dish, creamy and delicious

The foie gras agnolotti pasta and cioppino were divine. The Praise Cheesus (fried provolone) was also a stand out. Heroic salad was nicely dressed. Calamari was tough and chewy. Desserts were meh. Attentive service. Nice wine selection.

Cute little restaurant. I loved the ceiling painting. The food was succulent and the service super friendly. Wine suggestions by the glass was also very nice. My experience dining solo was perfect ?

My wife and I went for dinner. We started with a lightly breaded seafood starter/main with delicious shrimp and calamari. The veal parmesan was massive and tasty. The Santa Barbara pasta was stellar with nice complexity to the flavors. The Negroni and Mimosa were spot on. The finished with a bespoke gelato and pumpkin cheesecake - both great. Bravo! We'll be back.

We stumbled upon this restaurant mid afternoon and had all had a delicious sandwich. Maybe the best food we had in Los Angeles during our stay! It was expensive but worth it. Service was good too.

First time visit. We sat outside in street cabanas walled off from traffic so pretty quiet. We went for lunch. I had pasta Calabrian which was spicy and yummy. Also big portion. Brought home for dinner. My dining companion had a salad which he likes. Good size menu w pastas, salads, other main course options as well. I will go back

We had a wonderful dinner for our party of 4! We did family style so we could try more items. We started with one of their signature sandwiches, the Genoa (pesto chicken) which was fabulous — they were nice enough to cut it into quarters. If you haven't tried their sandwiches, they are a must with their amazing bread. We added their Mount Etna warm roasted vegetable salad (delicious), Eggplant Parmesan, Branzino and fresh clams , and 24hr braised short rib with fresh polenta. Everything was superbly done and delicious. We topped it off with their Cannoli and Gelato — both were wonderful. Service was great and lovely atmosphere! We will be back!

Super restaurant with top quality food. High ceiling dining room with casual open bar area on one side and a stylish dining room on the other. Lots of good choices on the menu. Delicious food with great ingredients. Definitely will come back again.
