We went on a rainy day and with our pet. They accommodated us on the side patio that was covered and away from other guests. The service was very smooth and the food was excellent. We were checked in on periodically and not too often. Exactly as it should be. The dishes we ordered came our very well prepared and tasty! We would definitely return in the future.

I'm glad I chose to ignore the low rated reviews here cause I really enjoyed it! Their tempura was incredible and I loved their yakitori! Only complaint was the scallop yakitori was overcooked. Other than that we enjoyed everything else!

The sushi at Kappo is actually pretty decent, but the experience was marred by inattentive service and a price point that far exceeds the value of the sushi served. It seems geared toward tourists, which isn’t necessarily bad but it didn’t work for me.

Cool modern interior, super friendly staff, and most importantly, the food’s on point. Perfect spot for a date night in Santa Monica. Not many izakayas can pull off both yakitori and sushi, but this place really delivered. The sushi rice was balanced, the fish was very fresh. sukiyaki came out boiling-point style with egg dipping sauce and it tasted like heaven. I can tell they put a lot of effort and time into the plating. Definitely coming back when im in town 💯💯

Such an amazing izakaya place, i tried their new menu- cappacio. SO GOOD!! and their sea bass is a must try as well. Service is top tier, the servers explain which dish it is when serving and their attention to detail is up to par. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience—the food is awesome, especially the nigiri. The vibe and atmosphere is really authentic and nice. Better to come in smaller groups of 2-6 in my opinion but lots of shareable items on the menu as well. Must try!

I really love this restaurant. Each dish has depth, and the atmosphere is exactly the kind of style I was looking for. I had my birthday party here, and it was such a happy and memorable time. If I get the chance, I’d love to come back and have another celebration with my friends.
