It seems like there is a scarcity of wine bars in L.A., in general. Thus, we were thrilled to unexpectedly find Offhand. The vibe is relaxed and unpretentious, and the service was friendly. We enjoyed our wine and beer choices while sitting in the chill outdoor seating area. We only wish they had more vegetarian options on the menu. We didn't order food because of that reason. We would also be interested in trying wine flights. Great place, and we want to come back for their coffee.
First and foremost, the level to which you enjoy this place is completely dependent on which one of the people behind the bar is serving you. That being said, Justin (I think that is his name!!) is fantastic. He's conversational, pours generously, and explains the wines fabulously. The other bartenders aren't bad they're just a lot more curt which feels like a let down coming off that energy. Cool spot with really excellent wine options. Very cheery atmosphere. Down one star because the night we went they seemed understaffed. The bartender said too busy to make a cheese board.
