Orto Santa Monica

Very Quite and Slightly hidden gem , came to enjoy my own space. Helped me stay grounded , reflect and do some healing. The Food was Phenomenal, the calamari , Bolognese , gelato ? All had a savory taste and made me feel safe. Haha once i'm healed fully and align with a healed woman, this is where i'm taking her first! Service and staff was great. 10/10 would recommend!!

Had some of the most delicious food here for date night with my gf. 10 out of 10 would recommend. It's very hard to find Italian food this good in Los Angeles!

Delicious food, warm and skilled service, cozy neighborhood atmosphere. Everybody in our large group felt graciously welcomed and enjoyed their meal. We will definitely be back for more!

Beautiful pasta and great service, however it is quite expensive.

Another outstanding dining experience at Orto .....Andrea and his staff consistently combine creative flavors with Italian traditions to provide one of best dining experiences in Italian cuisine. One of the best in Southern California!

We had an absolutely INCREDIBLE** experience at Orto Santa Monica! Everything from the staff, to the recommendations, to the incredible wine & insane food (cheese wheel with truffle pasta was out of this world!) 🍝 along with the homemade pistachio basil gelato! We both have not had gelato this amazing since we were in Italy! We had such an amazing experience here and look forward to coming back again soon! THIS IS A MUST ❤️

Spectacular meal at this quaint and cozy Northern Italian gem. The cheese wheel truffle pasta was amazing and the eggplant appetizer was insanely delicious. Home made gelato used in the affogato for desert was the icing on the cake.

 We had one night to spend in Santa Monica, so we searched for a special restaurant – and found it. Orto is delightful in every way. The food is exquisite; the dining room is beautiful; and the atmosphere is warm and peaceful. Portions are generous, so we happily shared a fennel salad, a pasta dish with a creamy and delicious black truffle sauce, and a perfect crème brûlée . The wines were some of Italy‘s best, and the service was gracious and attentive. When we return to Santa Monica, we will surely return to Orto. 

Another wonderful meal at Orto. We don’t live in LA so we don’t get to enjoy wonderful service, food, and atmosphere at Orto on a regular basis. However, every time we come to Los Angeles, we make it a point to dine with Andrea and his team. Fantastic experience in every way…every time.

Charming Italian restaurant with amazing food and attentive service.

My girlfriend and I had their homemade gnocchi special (creamy vodka sauce), probably the best gnocchi I’ve had (and I’ve had a lot of gnocchi), so fluffy and complimentary to the sauce — they also grated fresh parm!

As a main we had the salmon, which was perfectly cooked with crispy skin (just the way we like it!) with farmers market vegetables (green beans and carrots). You could tell the ingredients were incredibly fresh. The salmon also came with a baked potato on the side which was awesome. Lastly the warm bread for the table was fantastic.

For dessert we had their homemade tiramisu - that was delicious.

Can’t say enough about the welcoming atmosphere and attentiveness. Great place for a low key date night or a relaxed family gathering, or if you just want some good quality Italian - highly recommend!
