This place has gone way down hill. The deserts don’t taste nearly as good as they used to. Had the red velvet cupcake.Dried out. Frosting used to be more ofa cream cheese now it tastes like a packaged white frosting or fake whipped cream. Terrible. So disappointed.Chocolate cake used to be the best-not any more. Hate to say it but it started to go down hill the minute Jane sold it some years ago. I think it’s had it’s day sad ?

What happened to SLJ?? I’ve been a customer since the W. Hollywood branch first opened in the 80s This Montana branch no longer serves breakfast and lunch, no longer sells bread. The Thanksgiving pie I spent $50 on was mushy (crust and filling) and poorly flavored. Not what I remember as one of the best pies I’d ever had. Such a disappointment. The company must have been sold and the new owners are more concerned with maximizing profit. You can’t survive at these prices without maintaining quality - there is too much terrific, local competition….

Exceptionally high standards for cakes. And I enjoy the service thoroughly. Ordered the Beverly Cake, which is outstanding. I wish they would stay open later, though.

I've bought hundreds of their slices over the years and they were always amazing, but they just decided to only cut the 6inch cakes into slices instead of the 9inch ones, so now you get a narrow sad looking hunk of frosting for $10!Whoever made that decision should be fired. No more SLJ for me.

Hands down one of the best cupcakes i've ever had period. Small little place on the corner, clean and smelled nice. The woman who helped me was super helpful. At first i thought it was expensive for a small cupcake but i understand why! Will def be back!

The good: excellent location, generous portions, and good product presentationThe bad: we ordered a slice of carrot cake and apple pie. The taste of cinnamon was overwhelming. The ugly: POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.I was the only customer and, besides none of the two employees greeting me, I had to ask two or three times for someone to take my order. When I asked them for a menu, in a condescending matter, they told me that “no one uses physical anymore” and asked me to check their Instagram account. I can only assume I was dealing with someone how does not care for their business.2/5 mainly for the poor service.

What truly elevated this cafe and bakery was its commitment to beautifully designed pastries. Each confection was a miniature masterpiece, meticulously adorned with intricate details and vibrant colors. It was evident that the bakers poured their heart and soul into every creation, ensuring that not only did they taste exceptional, but they also looked like edible works of art. The presentation alone was a feast for the eyes, making it difficult to resist the temptation of indulging in these delectable treats. The interior was thoughtfully curated, blending modern aesthetics with a cozy ambiance. The color palette was inviting, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Every corner was tastefully adorned with tasteful decor, from charming vintage touches to contemporary accents, further enhancing the overall experience.

Used to order from SLJ all the time but this time I *Tried* to make an order with them via email, they didnt answer me for a week, then told me they could do the order and then called me back to say they couldn't do it and needed a week of lead time to make it (which i had done in the initial request), and then when they told me they couldn't do it, one of the employees tried to call and have me place an order through another business her mom runs? shady, not a good experience and will not be reaching back out to them for anything.
