El Farolito has the kind of loyal following that cults aspire to — with enough indoor and outdoor seating to suggest this place gets absolutely mobbed. The vibe is no-frills, which is a polite way of saying the décor budget was redirected entirely toward the food — a decision I wholeheartedly endorse. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable, which in California means you’ll actually leave with both a full stomach and money still in your wallet. Practically a miracle. The chicken burrito won’t make you weep with joy, but it will make you quietly nod in respect. Inside: an almost suspicious amount of tender white meat chicken. Whoever is in charge of the chicken situation deserves a raise and possibly a monument. Now. The tortilla chips. Crispy. Salty. Perfectly executed. I have nothing sarcastic to say and I find that deeply unsettling. The staff are friendly and fast — almost aggressively so, like they actually enjoy their jobs, which frankly throws me off. Bottom line: perfect for a quick, satisfying meal. Not perfect for a first date — unless your romantic strategy is “impress them with how efficiently I can destroy a burrito.” In which case, go for it. Some people are into that.

I love this place but I think they're inflating the total when you get to the window from the drive thru. Otherwise they need to update the prices on the drive thru board. I think I was charged the wrong price. I paid cash and no receipt even offered for me to see the breakdown.

The manager was polite at the window — but after getting home and finding leaves in my food, the whole vibe feels off. It’s creepy in hindsight. The food tasted weird too — the avocado had this spicy, vinegary flavor that didn’t seem right. And this isn’t the first time I’ve found sticks either.
They act annoyed when you speak English, and pretend not to understand Spanish. Speaker doesn’t work. Service is off. Why? But seems intentional. Be cautious of this place.
