It was moderately busy when we arrived, but not overly loud. As the crowd thinned out, the noise level dropped to a comfortable hum—it was much easier to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Am I crazy for feeling a mean girl vibe here?
I've come here two times and left with a bad taste in my mouth.
Avid oyster lover, and I left 2 uneaten.
My server did the bare minimum.
As a young, solo woman diner who ordered a ginger beer, glass of wine, half dozen oysters, and a salad, I would have hoped to be invited into an enjoyable experience at this beloved local space that I live 10 min away from. I spent the majority of my time here feeling impatient and uncomfortable, while watching tables around me enjoy their experiences.

One of our favorite Santa Rosa restaurants. They are very community oriented and serve what is preached in Sonoma County's Farm to Table ethic. Weds., early eve, we five ate outside in their beautiful setting and we were graciously and efficiently served a fine array of nourishing food/delicious cuisine. The staff is upbeat yet not giddy nor pushy. They truly aim to please. Rarely eating a cheeseburger, I do prefer cheddar to pimento cheese and served on a toasted brioche - no problem! Each person was delighted from appetizers to desserts.
The balance of sweet and savory was perfect.
Service and food were great, atmosphere was so cool eat out or eat inside waitress was terrific.

Welcoming staff, beautiful food, vibey setting, fun district, extensive partnerships with other creators/vendors. Veggie and Vegan options,
I have been wanting to come here for a while, and the food was pretty good. I absolutely love the vibe of this place, and the spinster fries are to die for!!! The reason I am doing 4 stars though is because of the price and quantity ratio. Their steak, which was fine/good, was flat iron, which I don’t believe is the best cut of steak and for $45 you barely get any! But the sauce with it is so good. Everything we tried we enjoyed, but it is hard to say we would come back because of how pricey it was. I also loved that they had a Juneteenth celebration, The Spinster Sisters is obviously community oriented, and I do think they have a great thing going on, but again just too pricey, and there are other places I would rather go for the price.
Maybe if there are special/local ingredients they could highlight that more to make it more worth it? Just my suggestion!
It’s not just food — it’s an experience.
My husband and I were staying out of town at the Astro Motel in Santa Rosa and took advantage of their stay-and-eat option, which included a credit at The Spinster Sisters. We thought, "Sure, let’s give it a try." What we didn’t expect was to be completely blown away. We opted for a variety of small plates, and every single dish was a standout. I mean every one, even the cherry salad, which surprised me the most. I usually skip fruit in salads, but these tart cherries were magic, bright, balanced, and made the greens sing. And then there were the ribs. Sticky, deeply flavorful, with just the right amount of char. Absolutely unforgettable. My husband and I both agreed: The Spinster Sisters alone is worth the two-hour drive. It’s that special. We dined in their garden, which was beautifully maintained and added an extra touch of magic to the evening. The neighborhood around the restaurant is quaint and charming, and the service was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. If you’re anywhere near Santa Rosa, or even if you’re not, this spot should be on your list. It’s more than a meal. It’s an experience.
I was so looking forward to eating here. Unfortunately, overall, it was disappointing. The food was just okay, but especially given the price point. Maybe they have a new chef? The beet salad desperately needed acid…and beets! Almost everything needed salt (they should have some on the tables for people not on a low salt diet). The mussels with sausage was edible but just barely (for $34–and not an entree!). The sausage was nearly flavorless yet somehow still overpowered the taste of the mussels. A little fennel would have gone a long way but there were just a few stringy bits of greens. Our waiter was very good at first, bringing tastes of wine. Toward the end, she wasn’t coming around and we had to ask someone else for our check. We were inside. I liked the way it looked but it was very cold and loud (every surface hard, no dampening). The tables are very close together so you can’t help hearing people’s conversations. It was as sonically overwhelming as it was gastronomically underwhelming. If I ever go there again, I will be sure to reserve a table outside.
