I love coming here when I'm craving delicious food but don't want to overpay. the service is never great and if you order online after 9pm they void the order. so dont come here if youre someone who needs excellent service, but if you want a clean space with a good atmosphere and great food its definetely the right place!

Pleasantly surprised by the kid-friendly menu and the excellent customer service. Their take on the Caesar salad was a standout—perfectly balanced, not overly anchovy-forward, with a subtle hint of garlic. Highly recommend giving it a try! The garlic bread knots were warm and perfectly soft and the lemon chicken was by far my favorite

A Quiet Oven, Little Spark
Tomatina bills itself as a lively Italian kitchen, anchored by an open-fire oven and a menu built around pastas, salads, piadine, and soups. On a recent visit with a group of six, the room told a different story. By 7:30 p.m., the dining room was nearly empty, and yet the service felt oddly unmoored—pleasant enough, but uncoordinated, with long pauses and a notable miss on a promised gluten-free dish that arrived so late it barely mattered.
The food followed suit. Two salads were competently dressed but forgettable. A salmon pasta and a chicken pasta leaned heavily on familiarity without delivering depth, while the spaghetti with meatballs lacked the slow-simmered conviction such a classic demands. The vegetable piadina hinted at the rustic charm Tomatina aims for, but never quite landed. Even the soup, which should have offered comfort, passed quietly.
Nothing was offensive; little was memorable. Tomatina’s menu promises the warmth of Italian simplicity, but on this evening, the fire burned low, and the experience never quite rose to meet its ambition.

Lucca Brazzi my Sicilian pal from the old country was telling me about how his Nonna stuffed peppers with sausage, cheese and fresh herbs, and how he looked forward to it every year when the peppers ripened to a deep red. Then he told me about an unassuming Italian restaurant on the way out of town, and how great and authentic the food is...Tomatina is name of the place, so yesterday I was in Santa Rosa and decided to check out Tomatina, and I'm sure happy I did, because the food was deliciously amazing! And...I'm thinking it was just like Lucca's Nonna made it! ☆☆☆☆☆

I really wanted to like this place since I live just two minutes away and hoped it would become my go-to spot. Unfortunately, my first visit was a disappointment. The garlic bread was hard, the mixta salad came with blue cheese (which wasn’t listed on the menu), and my spaghetti and meatballs only had four small meatballs. Everything lacked flavor, and nothing stood out. Even the pasta that came with the salmon was bland.
This Italian restaurant doesn’t even have chocolate for dessert…
The drinks were the only thing that were actually really good.

Pastas were were almost raw! The sauces of the pastas were flavorless, they don't offer any PARMESANO for the pastas.

Tried multiple items from the menu and was very disappointed in the food quality and flavor. Everything tasted the same and the service was disappointing. Had to flag down the waiter from his perch to bring refills

I always grew up eating Italian and since moving to Sonoma county, I haven't found a spot that I love as much as Tomatina's! I love the variety they offer and they pick two specials if you want to keep things light! Also, these folks KNOW how to do tiramisu correctly!!!

If I could give negative 5 stars I would.. the food was terrible. Very watered down sauce and the noodles were not cooked properly. The service was terrible as well. They were trying to tell me I was wrong. They make Olive Garden look better!

Hot take out first time from Tomatina. Food was great, I went back next day to dine at restaurant. Garlic rolls are my favorite and pasta was tasty.
