Amazing food in a restaurant that feels like home. Claudia's Hausschnitzel is the absolute best. It's a must for anyone who loves food.

We had a great birthday celebration here for one of our friends. It's becoming a tradition since it's the 3rd time we've celebrated his birthday here. Food is always on point! If you want traditional German food, this is THE place to go. Goulash, cream of broccoli soup, and a pea/potato/sausage soup was all enjoyed by our group. Our group ordered the following: Hausplatte, Claudia‘s Hausschnitzel, Zigeunerschnitzel (pictured), Jaegerschnitzel, Stammtischschnitzel, and their vegetarian plate. And copious amounts of German beer! They are a family run business and they just celebrated 32 years! Reservations only.

My wife and I had dinner at Stammtisch in Seaside on Friday evening. As always the meal was delicious and the southern German atmosphere perfectly gemütlich. I had Schweinebraten and my wife her favorite: Claudia's Hausschnitzel. Great place. Great food. Great service. Claudia treated us like royalty!

My family had a luncheon at Stammtisch after my Mom's funeral service. My entire experience at Stammtisch was wonderful! Claudia and her husband made the whole experience very easy, and they were more than pleasant. From making the reservations to being served the best German food I've EVER eaten (the cabbage soup was glorious), I had an exceptionally positive experience. Now I have a great place to eat when I come back to Seaside!

I was born and raised in Germany and I recommend this place!! I had the Wiener schnitzel and although it was a little darker colored than what I'm used to, it still tasted great. The Bratkartoffeln also tasted very authentic. But what I loved the most (and it even made me cry!) was the plain brown bread that came with the order! It smelled like home and reminded me of my childhood. Danke Stammtisch!

MAKE RESERVATIONS!!!! I saw 4 parties get turned away because they did not have a reservation. The owner works the front of the house and is very outgoing and friendly. I got the haus plate the beef was spoon tender, the spetzel was very crispy but I felt and the brat was lacking in flavor. The brat was definitely not beer braised. But I would definitely go back and try other dishes. I will say is that was disappointed that they had an apple crisp but no strudel. The restaurant did look the part with antlers and coo-coo clocks adorning the walls. If it sounds interesting to you I'd give it a try.

What a treasure! The food is delicious and has all the German classics you could want. There's also fun decor, friendly staff, and the chef came out to say hi.If you're new, the house plate has a variety of small items to try: schnitzel, sausage, pork roast with gravy, and two types of sauerkraut. It's heavy, so you might not want to finish it all if you want dessert. As for desserts, they have a variety, and I enjoyed the black forest cake, which is a lighter chocolate cake with cherries. If you're traveling with toddlers, I recommend a side order of spatzle without gravy.Kid-friendliness: It's not technically a kid place, but they were great with our toddler.

We absolutely love this place. This where we take the hubby for his birthday and Father's Day. Takes him back to his childhood. Food tastes a lot like how his Oma made it. Pricy but worth every penny. Always have fantastic service and they are warm and welcoming. They do have jokes sometimes so you must have a bit of a sense of humor. Love it here we will continue to keep coming back. Food is consistently fabulous.

If u r woman u will be touched They don't speak German They serve cheap sparkling water or u get tap water, if not water you'll get beer that's just foam

Very traditional German food. The owners are wonderful people. The wife is the chef and the husband takes care of their guest. Can't go wrong with anything you order. Choose the Houseplate for a nice sample of everything

I am so impressed with the owners here. They've intentionally made this place welcoming, intimate, and somehow casual too. Don't let the 'reservation only' policy deter you from enjoying polished and composed dishes, great beer on tap, and the inviting humor you'll experience here. This might not be the place for vegetarians/pescatarians, but take your meat friendly folks asap.Vegetarian options: There's only one main veg entree

Amazing German food in Seaside! This place is the real deal. I grew up in Germany and have tried German restaurants across the US. This is the only one that makes me feel nostalgic. It tastes like home.If you've never been here, try the Hausplatte. It's a little bit of everything and my go to meal. For drinks, the beers are good, but they also make an outstanding Radler, which is a beer / lemonade mix that people drank after volksmarches.Pretty crazy that this place is tucked away in Seaside, but if you want authentic German cuisine, it's a hiden gem.

Out of town attending a conference in the Monterey area this weekend. Having been born and raised in German, I was looking forward to great authentic cuisine. Unfortunately, I missed the "reservations only" sign and was rudely met with the owner and told he couldn't seat me in the nearly empty establishment. His loss, hope he gets all the business he needs tonight because I'm not coming back.
