For what it is, I give it a 5 star. If you are in Shaver Lake and want great food, service, and a cozy atmosphere, this is it! No frills, family diner.
Breakfast was really good! I got the early bird special and it was portioned really well. The heuvos rancheros was really good too. Staff was very friendly, but service was a little slow first thing in the morning. We'll definitely visit again to try the lunch/dinner options!
The food was great. The brisket is amazing with great flavor and super tender. We had someone pick it up so I can't comment on atmosphere, but was told the staff was super friendly.

The Sawmill offers great service and high-quality food in a clean environment. The Burnt ends and potato skin appetizers are amazing, and the brisket dinner is smoked to perfection. The fried chicken dinner is crispy and delicious. The restaurant features a cozy fireplace and steam boiler fire, creating an old-time Shaver saw mill feel. The porter beer is fabulous. It is also a popular spot for breakfast and dinner, with friendly staff and a warm atmosphere. Guests often enjoy hot chocolate after snowy hikes, and the early bird breakfast menu is highly recommended. Overall, The Sawmill is a great place to relax and enjoy a hearty meal in Shaver.
