I was in town traveling for work and stopped into Bacari Sherman Oaks for dinner. As a party of one, I was able to grab a seat at the bar, where I ended up having an excellent experience. I struck up a conversation with the bartender, Skyler, who was not only super friendly but incredibly knowledgeable about the entire menu.
Since it was my first time there, I asked Skyler to choose the dishes for me and he absolutely nailed it. Every plate was on point.
Highly recommend Bacari for anyone visiting the area and if you can, grab a seat at the bar and let Skyler take care of you. You won't be disappointed!

We had the best waiter ever and we was so helpful with my gluten issues. Let me know everything that might have cross contamination and offered gluten free bread on everything. The lavender tequila drink was unbelievable. Hands down best restaurant I’ve been to for allergies and good vibes haha

Bacari was phenomenal - had a great experience for brunch. Found parking around the block on Sunday, had a reservation and was seated quickly. Great atmosphere, however I don't think they have air conditioning (perhaps we were just at the window in the beaming sun) but it was a bit toasty. Needless to say the food was absolutely phenomenal - we got the french toast (you have to get this it's unreal, perfect texture, liek a dessert @ brunch), the shakshuka had great flavor/was delicious, and the chilaquiles were delicious (though salty). Also highly recommend their cocktails, I got the Sweet Pea and it was beautifully balanced, and solid coffee as well. Overall lovely experience here, it's also gorgeous.

Bacari Sherman Oaks is hands down the ultimate dining experience in the valley. The staff is unbelievably warm, attentive, and competent. The food is truly remarkable—every dish exceeded expectations. Our server, Sam, was incredible, and GM Lester was outstanding—not only in how he cared for us but also in the way he supported his staff. If you’re looking for a magical dining experience and a service staff that goes above and beyond - go to Bacari Sherman Oaks!

We’ve been to Bacari many times—mostly at the West 3rd location, and occasionally in Silverlake—and it’s always been a pleasure. Unfortunately, this was our first time at this location, and it was very disappointing.
As always, the space itself is beautiful—but not at our table. We were seated in a cramped spot between the bar and the kitchen, between two overflowing trash cans. The ambiance was ruined by harsh fluorescent light pouring out of the kitchen’s swinging door. Honestly, this table should not even exist—it’s in a high-traffic area and clearly an attempt to squeeze in two more diners. Even one of the people who brought food to our table commented on how tight the table was, and how hard it was to fit more than one dish at a time.
Still, we tried to make the best of it and asked the hostess if we could move when a nearby table opened up. She explained why that specific table wasn't an option, which was fair, but she also said, “We won’t forget about you,” and promised to follow up. We never saw her again—until we flagged her down at the end of the meal, when she awkwardly mentioned that a table had just opened up (clearly too late to matter). If she had simply come back earlier—even just to say a move wasn’t possible—we would have appreciated the honesty. Instead, the lack of follow-through felt dismissive and unprofessional.
We mentioned the overflowing trash cans both times we spoke with her, and no one made any attempt to address them, whether we moved tables or not.
Separately, our server was kind and the food was good. But there were issues with the drinks—multiple ingredients were unavailable, and in one case, the bartender asked if we were okay with a substitution. In another, they just made the change without checking. One of our dishes never arrived at all.
We still tipped well, because our server did the best he could. But between the uncomfortable table, the unclean environment, and the lack of accountability from the host, we left feeling disrespected and disappointed—especially after spending over $150 for two people.

Delicious and interesting food. It's tapas style (small plates) so you can't go wrong. (And if you don't like one dish, you'll like the next one.)
Ambience is low key and relaxed.
Don't skip the double chocolate cake.

Great place for a date night :) I really liked the dark environment and the food was amazing. I was able to try different dishes without getting full quickly.
The place is noisy but it didn’t bother me.
