My wife and I came by here for a family get together and had a blast. The food was absolutely delicious. We love sides and had the Mac & cheese, collard greens and my favorite, the black eyed peas and rice aka The Rolling Johns. The owners really make the place special, and we were fortunate enough to have a quick conversation with one of the owners Chef. You can feel the love in the food and the building. Hands down the best soul food I’ve had in Los Angeles.

We had the very best time at Cea-Lo’s last night. The food was incredible. My nephew got the catfish platter but ate it before I could even get a picture! I took a picture of my plate, I got the three sides plate because I’m a sides girlie. Let me tell you, the rice and black eyed peas were so good. I’m picky about my collard greens and they were perfection and the Mac n cheese was everything you’d hope for. The owners are a husband and wife duo and they were so friendly and fun to talk to. I will absolutely be going back again and again for the best soul food in not only the valley, but all of LA!

Super delish! Stumbled on this joint after searching "soul food near me" via Maps. Customer service was off the chain - super nice, super friendly. Felt right at home. We ordered a shrimp po'boy and dirty rice with large shrimp. These menu items were really good. BUT WAIT - the BLUEBERRY CORNBREAD !!! was A-Maz-Ing ?... I promise you if you leave here without ordering it, you will regret it. #iPromiseYouParking: YupKid-friendliness: Bring the kidsWheelchair accessibility: Bring the wheelchair

If I could have brought with me five stomachs I would have!!! The Foooooooddddd is so damn GOOD!!! This place is a real VIBE‼️‼️‼️‼️ The service is incredible! The atmosphere is laid back and the music was smooth and welcoming. I could have stayed all night and danced after eating. Which would have been beneficial due to the massive portions provided by the chef!No filter needed on any of the photos attached to this review. I have never eaten at an establishment that made me feel back at home where I knew the food was clean and tastes amazing. I am so grateful this individual's talents. The owner (Chef) is going all the way to the moon with this type of skill. The Sweet potato cornbread will surely make you bow down!

Fried chicken sandwich and fries were bomb ? This little jewel of a restaurant is hidden in the back of a small parking lot. Great find.

My son found this little gem in Sherman Oaks so when I hit SoCal the family and I grabbed some take-out. Cee-Lo is in a small strip mall with easy access and adequate parking. The workers were very friendly and the food was excellent, overall, a solid 4.5 rounded to 5 stars. We ordered fried chicken, fried shrimp with collard greens, plantain and onion rings. We finished it off with a cornbread peach cobbler. The chicken and shrimp had excellent batter, very good flavor and fried to a nice crunch. The onion rings were crunchy but needed a dip. I've never had collard greens but I liked the greens. My wife and daughter ate the plantains which they both liked. The Cornbread Peach Cobbler was good. It had more filling than crust. Overall the flavor was great but a little more crush would have been perfect. The family and I will be back again next time I visit SoCal. If you are in the area, swing by for great comfort food, don't miss out.

I finally got to try Cea-Lo. I had stopped by before but they were closed. I was told they were starting to open at 12:00. I ordered the boneless white meat chicken dinner. Sides were potato salad and crispy cauliflower. They did not disappoint, I thought everything was great, generous portions. I will be back to try the fried whiting fish.

The valley seems to lack great soul food - but this place is pretty good. We ordered take-out from here and the man on the phone was really polite. I was a little disappointed because they didn't have any white meat chicken pretty early on a Friday evening. Not that the fried stuff didn't sound amazing, but I was hoping for a lighter main so I could splurge on the sides. I ended up with the wingettes and they were fine. Nice and crispy even after a short car ride home. The greens were great and the mac and cheese had that good home-made taste to them. The star of the show were the hushpuppies with the honey drizzled on top. they had the perfect crispy outside with a softer, mealier inside. Portion size was enough for two meals. I'll definitely go back when I can try their grilled chicken.
