Kinza Sushi Japanese Restaurant

I love Kinza. It’s a cute but no pretension type of sushi spot! Their rolls come with 10 pieces (not 8) AND you can order half size rolls even for their specialty rolls which is INCREDIBLE. Very fresh, flavorful, lots of good combos, and service is excellent.

If you can’t find parking on the street, park in the alley behind the restaurant!

I wanted to bring to your attention an issue that occurred during a recent visit to your restaurant. My party of four was served by a hispanic waitress, possibly named Ana, and we were surprised to find a $20 tip automatically added to our bill. We were not informed beforehand that an automatic tip would be applied, especially as we were under the impression that such charges only apply to parties of six or more.

This felt misleading and uncomfortable, as we were not made aware of this practice during the meal, and it gave the impression that the waitress had decided to add the tip on her own without clear communication. While I understand that gratuity can be added to larger groups, this situation felt somewhat shady and less transparent.

Good sushi, very straightforward with no bells and whistels. The tuna crispy rice came out hot and fresh I highly recommend it. It was a good experience and I would go there again.

Bad tasting food made my husband sick. Not fresh. Not much fish but a lot of rice, no wonder it was empty on what is supposed to be the busy dinner hour.

Sunday around 3:00, rude waitress who claimed to be the boss. We could not tell the difference between the types of fish. The food was bland and soft and "mushy". I would never go back. Bad food bad service.

Stopped in for lunch and wish there were some lunch specials. I can't do $40 after tip for lunch very often. But the food was good, the place was empty (see prices) and service was quick.

The best sushi. I am a reformed vegetarian. That means I just started eating meat again and I am very satisfied. The fish is good as is the steak. The people are friendly and the restaurant has good seating and decor.

I don’t much like the atmosphere at the Sherman Oaks location but nevertheless, it’s always amazing sushi. Definitely my first go to.

Sushi is good quality fish, nice size, thinly cut and very good flavor. The rice was somewhat disappointing as it was mushy. Good price for the quality of the fish. A restaurant we will go back to for sushi.
