Apparently a reservation doesn’t mean anything here I waited for over 30 minutes after my reserved time. They let walk ins go ahead and none of the staff coordinated with each other I had to tell 3 people that I was waiting to be seated. It’s crowded, dirty, and, poorly managed.

Our server took long to take our order and kept forgetting things she didn’t give us utensils or napkins till we asked. Kept talking with other staff behind the bar.

Drinks were too sweet. The food took another hour to come out and was disappointing. I order the shrimp with garlic bread the shrimp was over cooked bland and oily. I hated it. Will not be coming back.

Also everything is over priced.

First time experiencing Guatemalan food. It was so delicious. I tried their antojitos plate because I wanted to try a little bit of everything. Not only was the food Devine, our server Rafael Rocha was super nice and gave us great service. I will definitely come again. And I suggest you come as well.

I got the El Chero and the mango margarita for breakfast. The pupusa was one of the best I've ever had, and the margarita was delicious, and only $9! This was my first time here, and Glendy was so friendly and helpful with everything, she made me feel right at home! Would come back and would recommend!

3 Star because of the cook :)

I usually do not leave reviews, but I had to share this experience.

For Mother’s Day, I took my mom to Puchica Guatemalan Bar & Grill in Sherman Oaks because they had marimba music, and we drove over an hour to get there. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing from beginning to end.

First, there was no clear sign showing where the parking entrance was. I had to drive around the block to find it, only to realize afterward there was supposed to be free VIP parking, but the sign was barely visible. Not a huge issue, but it already started things off badly.

We arrived 10 minutes early for our 1:00 PM reservation and waited to be seated, which I understand is normal. However, we were placed at a cramped table by the front exit and window. Another larger table next to us was attended to immediately (they were sat after us) while we were ignored.

The waiter (a guy) took the other table’s drink orders right away while we repeatedly tried to get his attention. He completely ignored us until my dad finally tapped him. We ordered drinks and two tamales as appetizers. The drinks came in Styrofoam cups, and the waiter slammed them down so hard that some of the drink spilled. I politely asked for one glass cup, and with an attitude he said there were none left. Yet minutes later, he brought glass cups to the table next to us.

When he finally brought me a glass cup, he slammed it down next to my mom with an attitude. Even then, I still said “thank you” because I always try to be respectful.

After waiting over an hour and still not receiving our appetizers, we continued trying to get the waiter’s attention, but he kept ignoring us while constantly checking on the other table. I eventually had to wave down another employee at the bar using a napkin. She came to help us, explained there were no refills for the horchata, and checked on our appetizers. About 30 minutes later, the tamales finally arrived.

Then, after nearly two more hours, our food finally came out. I will say this: hats off to the chef because the food itself was actually very tasty. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. The plates were handed to us instead of being properly placed on the table.

Once we finished eating, the bill came very quickly. I still left a tip, not because of the waiter, but because the chef deserved it. Ironically, the waiter only became polite and said “thank you” after turning the receipt around and seeing there was a tip included.

I understand restaurants get busy on holidays, especially Mother’s Day, but being ignored, treated with attitude, and waiting hours for service is unacceptable—especially after driving so far to celebrate with family.

I will not be recommending this restaurant due to the poor service we received from our waiter. No one ever checked in on us to see if we needed anything or if everything was okay. We were planning to order additional food and drinks to go, but we were concerned it would take another four hours.

I hope you will train your employees to provide better customer service, as you may lose more customers this way. On a positive note, please let the cook know that the food was delicious.

Overall, the customer service was very disappointing.

Thank you
