Oct 2022 review-- Hearing the coffee shop was nearly going out of business, I insisted to a friend we go here for lunch.I now understand why they're in their situation. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, when I received my breakfast burrito I was a bit confused - but the waiter quickly and condescendingly said "it's naan bread". Bean Town is just unfortunately no longer a homey place to be, so while it pains me to say, I will not be back. The soul and friendliness have left.Pre 2020 review-- You walk into this coffee shop, and you feel like you're in some fictional small town on some TV show, yet astonishingly, you've just stepped into a Sierra Madre Institution. To get out of the hustle and bustle of LA, head to BeanTown, where you'll be reminded of what small town living used to be like.

Such a nice coffee shop and great staff , but the Air Conditioning is really sucks !It was 103 outside, the owner is only running some useless fans inside !!!

Bought and iced coffee and had to spit it out it tasted so bad! Honesty their high prices don't reflect on the food! Mediocre at best and very hig priced! Overpriced! Sorry I'm a local and just can't afford anything in there! Poppy cake is more affordable and way better Quality! Unfortunately people will pay for s**** It's a cool place to be in as far as atmosphere but take a look at those prices lol I'm good! I say this respectfully and truthfully

Came here for the first time today to study for an interview and I liked how much seating they had. The coffee was pretty good but the pecan bar I got was so bad I didn't eat it- it tasted like when you leave something in the fridge too long. I liked the vibes but would prefer the radio to be playing chill instrumental / coffee shop music instead of Top 40.

Great coffee and pastries. The pastries and coffee are not too sweet. They had the best cinnamon roll I have ever had. This was our first time and will not be our last.

The shop was very cozy with lots of pastry options to select from! They have different flavors of scones, croissants, muffins, quiche, tarts, as well as cinnamon rolls, brownie with walnuts, NY cheesecake, and a couple of other things I cannot remember all right now. We ordered: -Vanilla Rose Latte: Good but kinda sweet and I don't really taste the rose. -Ice Coffee: Not my drink, quite good for a non-black coffee drinker like me. -Bean Town Breakfast: Decent, 3 sunny side ups with sausage, toast, and potato+bell pepper+onion stir fry. -Breakfast Sandwich: "3 scrambled eggs & tomatoes folded in between naan bread," with bacon and swiss cheese. Yummy! Egg is fluffy and the whole thing is not greasy! I like the sauce that came with. -Strawberry Scone: Very buttery and good! Could probably use more strawberry but the price probably would have gone up! I would get again. -Cinnamon Roll: Decent. I'm hoping to come back to try the other baked goods!

Good coffee and pastries, but what happened to the inviting atmosphere? They used to have comfy furniture and an extremely talented jazz singer who added to the cool, eclectic vibe. Now there’s just stiff tables and chairs, and echoing silence. It has as much appeal as an office break room. Please bring back the character that once had the movie scouts (and the rest of us) seeking this place out.

Worst Coffeeshop within a 30 mile radius. Rude customer service and horrible coffee that's been sitting around in canisters from the day before. They should rename this place CaCa Beans.

Bean Town is the quintessential small town coffee shop. Friendly, inviting with great food options and terrific coffee.

Went here the other day for lunch with my wife. Beautiful location up in the foothills of Sierra Madre. Very "small town America" just 3 miles North of the 210 and you feel like you're in a different world in so many ways. nice contemporary vibe inside but not packed like a Starbucks. The staple is coffee but also have a great food menu and lots of yummy baked goods. Most of their items on the menu to eat are $12.95 which is great so you don't have to decide one way or another based on price. My wife had the hamburger which was small but looked spot on. I had the caprese sandwich which was A+ and better than expected. What a delicious choice for a vegetarian. We sat outside under an umbrella on a rare 88 degree March day. The food was a little slow (maybe 20 minutes) but they brought it out to our table with a smile and friendly attitude. They also offer complimentary water which comes in a nice cup with a lid. I love water; along with not having to pay $2-$4 for some bottled drink I don't even want. Highly recommend! Excellent location. If you can't find parking, just drive up Baldwin a little into the residential area, plenty of parking there.

Friendly staff in an unpretentious, warm coffee shop environment. They have a great selection of teas.

Tasty coffee and great prices. Highly recommend checking this place out. Definitely beats Starbucks in my opinion in both quality and value.
