“Their taco salads are the best I've ever had. Veggies are fresh and a good mix (more than just iceberg lettuce). They have awesome salsa and really good albondigas. Love that they have a drive thru/walk up window to order/pickup your food. Service is friendly. Get food from here regularly.“

“In the late 80s I was in Central America and between missions I found myself at a taco stand in a small beach town near Coyolito. There I had simple but perfect asada tacos and a cold beer that I have been chasing to re create for decades. Nothing fancy, just honest asada with hand pressed tortillas and a cold brew. When I returned home, searched every Hispanic restaurant menu I came across for over twenty years and tried in vain to capture that meal moment. That was until Gordi's opened their doors. Their carne asada tacos were like finding a Polaroid of an old friend you thought you lost. Simply and honestly prepared and served in fresh tortillas that didn't exist until you ordered them, splashed with lime and served with a cold beer and a "you're a local" smile. If you are looking for a polished chain restaurant that has glossy menus that are the same in all 100 locations, this place probably isn't for you. But if you look past the simplicity to the years of family tradition in every dish, it really won't bother you that they don't serve fishbowl margaritas filled with cheap tequila or put a sombrero on your head and sing to you on your birthday while clapping and giving you a churro with a sparkler on top. You will be eating like your their family, a family that is deeply connected with the Del Norte community and cares about things that matter. And you just can't get that experience from a polished franchise.“
