Had a nice little breakfast sandwich and coffee. Five Star Service by John the cashier. He was pleasant, more than helpful, and welcoming. I’m going back tomorrow to Thank John and to order the Mexican sweet coffee.Clara

Since the reviews were amazing we thought we'd try it out. Disappointed. The meat in the breakfast burrito was fatty, there was no egg, way too much sauce and sour cream and very little flavor. Maybe it was an off day but we'll never find out since we won't be returning.

Opted for Fidel’s because it was within walking distance of where we were staying. For 3 of us: dinner plates (plus 1 Margarita) & tip was just over $100. Being from Northern CA, we knew eating out anywhere in this region was going to be costly. BUT, we were blown away by the flavor and cook of our meals. My husband had Chile Verde; done in a way we’ve never seen before - so delicious and fresh. Also had the carnitas; came in large chunks of meat with sliced onion and cilantro - perfect. Awesome flour tortillas. Our Server and all other Staff were extremely friendly and food was served rather quickly (we went for a “late” dinner at about 7:30pm).

Great burritos, both the ultimate breakfast and California burrito were great and super friendly service. Perfect beach burrito spot

This place is low key and maybe a tad divey. But I had a truly amazing chilaquiles breakfast here, and my bf loved his breakfast sandwich. They did a great job and the service was excellent. They genuinely wanted us to enjoy our food, and served it with a smile and kind words. Appears to be family run. Lovely place.

We found this jewel of a place a few months ago. It's such a wonderful find! We live in Solana Beach and we just walk here when we are not in a rush. If you drive, they have a large parking lot behind the building if there's no spots on the side. The new owners, have two businesses here. They have a grocery store with fresh fruits, vegetables, pan (Mexican bread), fresh tortillas that just need to be heated on the stove (they taste like the ones my grandmother made when I was a child - very authentic and delicious!), fresh meats of all sorts, including fresh chorizo (and no preservatives), Mexican spices, and so much more. In addition, attached to the grocery store, they have a deli open for breakfast and lunch. They make an assortment of delicious meals (menu attached). On Saturday's only, John arrives at 4am and makes a huge batch of carnitas. They start selling at 7am and are sold out by noon! Forget Vons or Gelson's, give this family owned business a try and see what it's like to shop with friendly service and an old school way; fresh, no preservatives, helpful faces and delicious!

John's Market on the corner of Valley & Vera in Eden Gardens, Solana Beach is our #1 go to now! They have a grocery store of fresh fruits, vegetables, pan rolls, fresh made tortillas, meats, fresh homemade chorizo with NO PRESERVATIVES, eggs, Mexican spices, creams and so much more! This is a new establishment opening in 2022. As another reviewer stated, skip Gelson's, Von's or Sprouts and give this traditional place a try. This is a family business. Mom, sister and brother John all work here and they are so nice and happy to help you. They also serve breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. Saturday mornings they make fresh carnitas starting at 4am. They start selling it at 7am and it's sold out by noon! We ordered the shrimp and the breakfast burrito today and we were so happy we did. My BF told me this was the best burrito he has ever eaten. Not only that, we both only ate half because it's so big! We now have another meal. We will no longer be frequenting Mexico Viejo. This grocery store and restaurant will be getting our business moving forward! Give them a try!

The food in the location is excellent. I recommend the Cadillac. Margarita! We are lucky they had a fantastic mariachi band playing live.

Large portions. Love the salsa! Super cute place. Love the ambiance! The service was impeccable! Jose Luis and the whole team took such great care of us. We were there around 5pm on a Sunday. No waiting. We sat inside. I think we had at least five different people stop by our table - to drop off chips and salsa + water; to take our order; to drop off our food; to pick up our plates; to refill our drinks. I had the nopales with chicken. It was okay. We don't live in the area and might try somewhere else next time.

This place is my go to market for anything I need mid week. They have quality produce, amazing tortillas, and every flavor of Jarritos. Skip Sprouts. Definitely skip Vons. Come to John's.My kid introduced me to this small shop. He would go here for burritos (attached to the grocery store) after hanging out in La Colonia park. If you live anywhere near, you are missing out if you haven't visited.Did I mentioned the owners are super nice too.

I rated this place on the breakfast sandy’s alone. I believe the meal I had was the Breakfast Burrito Deluxe, it was the everything in it breakfast masterpiece. I would probably have been more cognizant of what the menu item was called, had I not been in heaven over this choice!Let me put it this way, if Pipes in Cardiff has the best breakfast sandwich I have ever tasted, & I rated that a five, and any drive through fast food McDonald’s or Burger King has a breakfast sandwich that I would rate a one, then this was a 5+! Add to that the homemade salsa verde (Which I would eat off of an old shoe if it has this deliciousness on top of it), and I will be back plenty.John’s restaurant is attached to a market which also sells the homemade salsa and pico de gallo, with a great small selection of produce and other Mexican accoutrements. Love everything about this place. Brother and sister owned, very friendly. If you like your coffee sweet, try the Mexican blend. Loved my Sunday morning here.
