We used Rudy's Solana Beach to cater our rugby club's tailgate for 300. The food was fantastic and plentiful; we had so many compliments. Issac and his team were a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend and will use them again.

Not bad. Their potato rolled tacos are solid and their guacamole is better than average. Few veg options though, so sad!

I ordered the carne asada plate. It comes with rice, beans, corn tortillas, pico de gallo, and guacamole. I also ordered a carnitas taco with rice and beans. I also ordered 1 chicken street taco and some rolled crunchy chicken tacos. The food was fresh and good. You can get fountain drinks which includes horchata, Jamaica and tamarindo.
Been here a few times and won't return. The inconsistency is killing me. Maybe because I ordered a fish taco at 10am in the morning and somebody thought it wold be okay to cook what looked like yesterdays cook. I would have been much happier with a 'sorry no fish tacos this early' than to serve what went into the garbage after a hesitant bite. Really no excuse to serve this. Sad Day for me. Other visits merited a 3 or 4 star. Today was really a 1 star experience this time around and won't be back to test my tolerance for disappointment.

"Best Mexican place in Solana Beach" would be accurate but not adequate. One of the best places, period, between San Diego proper and North County? Now we're talking. You walk in and you hear staff and customers talking and joking in Spanish, see soccer on the TV, and you instantly feel the warm vibe of the place. You walk out and realize you spent significantly less than a visit to (say) Rubio's and got more and much better food for it. Tortilla soup is a standout, most places go nuts on salt, they instead keep it smoky, spicy, and Herby with big chunks of juicy chicken. Birria is rich and fresh, vampiros and street tacos are all delicious too. Well margaritas ($5 on happy hours and taco tuesdays!) are as good as or better than the $12-$16 cocktails nearby. I haven't had occasion to have them cater anything yet but I may have to. If you've been sleeping on this place, you have no excuse now.

Awesome authentic Mexican food!! The staff was friendly and the food was prepared timely. They also had beer on tap which was great. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant! All the food is outstanding!

A friend recommended this place for good burritos. I guess I should of ordered a burrito instead of a tostada. It really did not hit the spot. It was vegetarian so maybe that was my downfall. The chips and guacamole were ok and they did not have great hot sauce. The wifey did order the burrito and was happy and the young one had a tostada and was happy saying it was good. I think this place is probably better than a 3 so I would give it a try. I just read this to the wifey and she gave me side eye when I only gave it a 3 and I am a gringo. The lady at the register was super nice. Local hot spot so I would check it out for your own taste buds.

I've been to Rudy's several times. Unfortunately, each time has been very disappointing. Greasy fried fish tacos, bland chicken burrito, and dirty tasting Menudo .
