My wife and I spent Sunday visiting several historical Spanish missions. It was a cold, raw, miserable, rainy day. Driving home on 101 we debated where to stop for dinner, and decided to go into Solvang to see what was open. Driving around looking for a likely spot --- we wanted one to which we had not been before --- we found The Actor's Corner on 2nd Street and it turned out to be the perfect place for us. We had the place to ourselves --- cozy, warm, and private, just what we needed --- and received wonderful personal service from Grace, who is both the hostess and Chef Santos' spouse. We were warmly welcomed and immediately were treated to a wine sampling to choose our wine for dinner. While giving us four very nice wines from which to choose --- a nice way to get warm! --- Grace engaged us with a get-to-know-you conversation. Things just got better from there. The appetizer, salad, and main course were all wonderful, and the dessert --- we chose the warm chocolate cake --- was a perfect exclamation point at the end of a terrific meal. Our only regret is that we needed to get back on the road home, and we didn't ask to meet the Chef. But we should have! So next time we are there (and there definitely be a next time) we will do that. Thank you, Grace, and Chef Santos! We will see you again soon. Anne and Peter

I am incredibly underwhelmed. While the owners wife is sweet, the meal itself is not so great and very overpriced. We had an appetizer for $22 which is a skewer of vegetables. Not worth it. Next dish was a Bolognese which was definitely not al dente. It was soggy pasta with Kobe beef?! There was maybe 10% ground beef and 90% soggy noodles. My husband thought the vegetable lasagna was good but maybe $18 worth at most! He wanted to order a diet soda however, that would be nine dollars for one can?! WTF! We won't be going back. I am a major foodie and there are many amazing restaurants to choose from that are better priced for what they provide.

I love this venue very much. It has a nice spirit. The meals are very tasty. the service is dynamic and the team is well trained. The pay is reasonable. I highly recommend.

What a wonderful restaurant! We celebrated my husband's birthday with a nice dinner there in December. The husband is the chef, and his delightful wife is the hostess/server. The service was excellent. The food was delIcious, so fresh and yummy. They even treated us to a special wine tasting and dessert for the special occasion. We had a great experience. The next time we visit Solvang, we will go back.

Grace, co-owner and wife of Chef Santo, warmly greeted us at the door. We had a lovely table. She suggested some wine and then brought us samples. Each was unique and delicious. The menu is small; yet it was attractive and really piqued our interest with unusual combinations. I had a chicken entree with a wine and cherry sauce along with scalloped potatoes. My chicken was delicious!! Prior, we were served a delicious salad. After dinner, she asked about dessert; but seriously, I was full and couldn't eat another bite. If you follow my reviews, you know that I rarely give a 5Star rating. Actor's Corner Cafe deserves it! Small, intimate and delicious!!

Such a great, cute place with AMAZING food! Grace and Chef Santos make such a great team! The tomatoes used in the salad tasted nothing like the ones I've had. I love how Grace takes the time to get to know your name and calls you by your name throughout your time there. It makes the experience so much more intimate and comfortable. The food is something you would have to taste to understand how good of a place it is. I got the Bolognese and my boyfriend got the short ribs which just melted in your mouth! All organic and cooked to perfection! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting and I would definitely come here again!

This was one of the best Italian dinners I've ever had! The restaurants ambiance is very intimate and perfect for a romantic dinner or a special evening. You are greeted right upon went wrong by one of the owners GraceIan's she is just the sweetest person.. it's so wonderful and refreshing to see you be welcomed with such warmth upon entering a restaurant!! The restaurant only accommodates 10 people, so reservations are appreciated and make sure you take time to enjoy you meal there The food is out of this world!!! Fresh farmers market salads come with each entree you order. I don't eat tomatoes but these I did!! The lasagna and all the pastas are made from scratch. I ordered the Braised beef short ribs marinated and cooked in 5 different wines and I have never tasted beef that is as moist and flavorful as this meal was. Yes they have a small menu but for a reason!!! Santo, the chef, co owner and husband of Grace puts so much time and love into the food he prepares. I can't express how wonderful this hidden gem is! Another lovely touch was Grace gave us some pours of wine to taste.. a lot from boutique wineries in Italy and she was not forceful about purchasing a glass or bottle. She just wanted to share her love for the wines she handpicked ... this made our experience even more lovely! We ended up taking a bottle home because we just enjoyed the wine so much but didn't have room for it with our meal. We also didn't have any room for dessert but can't wait to stop by in the future on an empty stomach and enjoy a longer period of time at the beautiful establishment.
