The food was delicious!!! The service was impeccable, the wine list was amazing. The filet of sole piccata was flavorful and tender. The Burratta salad was perfectly balanced. We loved every minute of our experience at Osteria Grappolo

It is a shame when you visit a place on vacation and have a bad experience. My daughter made a reservation prior to our visit in Solvang. So even though my son noticed negative reviews, we decided not to cancel our reservation just to be nice. Unfortunately the food was subpar; service was inadequate and we were rushed. We were non drinkers but we did order appetizers. We walked in promptly for our 6 o'clock reservation and by 7 o'clock, the owner (appeared to be) - a stern looking, lack of smile, grey haired gentleman came to clear the table. He looked like we offended him with our presence. I also noticed that when he went to the other side of the restaurant to interact with other customers, he was able to smile. I could only attribute that to our looks. May be he did not like to serve certain groups who should eat Asian food, not Italian food. Who knows? Unfortunately we wasted one meal at this worthless restaurant. Would NOT recommend.

This is a cozy date spot in Solvang. Dim lighting and very friendly staff. The food was delicious; the lasagna was the stand out dish- good portion size and very flavorful. The carbonara was also good, enough to share between two people.

Came here with my friends and the burger came out raw. It was literally ice cold in the center. My other friend also got a burger and it was burnt. We also got charged with no notice for two friends sharing an entree. The bill said "split plate charge" but we did not even ask for the dish to be served on two different plates. This place is overpriced for the quality of food and charges extra for weird things like sharing food or using a credit card.

Lovely meal and very authentic. Great service and friendly staff. The jalapeño poppers are terrific- order two!

Food is nothing special. The bread they give you was hot and fresh. I had the lasagna and I would say it was a bit better than frozen. Enjoyed looking around the restaurant with the carved wood work. Staff was fast and friendly.

If I am going to be charges an additional $5 for using a credit card, from what I have read, I should be notified up front, not when I look back over my receipt. I hope it was worth the 3% for the bad reviews. I see others are not happy either. The food was very good as was the service. Just let people know don't sneak it in. This would have been a much better review.

Delicious appetizers, cold beers, and amazing people. This is by far one of my favorite Solvang spots. I love the delicately pan seared salmon. The inviting and relaxed ambiance complimented by the friendly and courteous staff completes the experiences. Also Six stars, five on yelp, and one in my heart.

The Risotto Primavera with seasonal vegetables (in Feb) was excellent. High top bar where I caught the 4th qtr and OT of the Super Bowl. Quiet place though. Service was attentive at the bar. Two thumbs up

Pasta was good, it was nice and quiet on the weekday. Fast and loud on weekends. Staff was friendly.

Went here during a spring break trip last year and let me tell you, the food here was absolutely delicious! I got the spaghetti carbonara and I’ve never tasted anything so good! Would definitely recommend however the prices are a bit much, especially if you’re on a budget. Other than that great experience and amazing food!

I am a local who has enjoyed dinner at Osteria Grappolo several times in recent years. My friend brought me here this time to celebrate my birthday, and while the food was great, the experience ended on a sour note when we received our bill. It included a split plate charge for our shared salad (local restaurants really don't charge for this anymore), and a 3% surcharge for using a credit card to pay. What? Who pays with cash anymore? The waitress said it was mentioned on the menu, but we certainly didn't notice that. It felt sneaky and I will think twice before returning.

Worst Italian food I've ever had. Pre-made frozen meatballs and veal that was inedible.

We just got discriminated here. I'm not sure if it was because of my race, because of my brother, who is autistic, or a combination of both. When we arrived at the restaurant we were told we could go to the bar. We sat and were ready to order drinks however, I'm not sure if it was a manager or owner, but he asked us if we wanted to sit in the back and escorted usoutside to the back of the restaurant to another room. When we got there, we got to sit down, and the waitress was super attentive to us.Suppose anything positive was her attentiveness to everyone after a short moment of my mom getting a coffee and us ordering. The owner or manager informed us that he was sorry but didn't know there was a reservation for our table. The table he had just placed us in. He asked us to move once again. As we were leaving, a family made a joke about us moving, I understand things happen, and he can't control what others assume was the the manager asking us to leave the restaurant. That was the assumption of a random person. Kinda felt blah people laughing at us.We were moved twice and told we would get a dessert for free for the inconvenience. I thought wow, thats cool. After all, I mean, it's a dessert, and mistakes happen after we got moved now to the front of house.A new waiter came to us to give us the food. And he offered us cheese. My brother is nonverbal and doesn't make eye contact withpeople. It's part of the spectrum. He is superquiet. I don't think Cesar liked how he did not reply to him. However, I spoke up and said yes to the cheese, and I asked him if we could get some bread for the table.Cesar said yes and never came back to check on us at all. My mom never got a refill of her coffee or my water. We never got the bread, and we never saw him again until he was ready for us to pay. If anything, it felt like we got rushed to leave. The dessert the owner or manager promised never arrived either. The whole experience felt a bit painful, to be honest. The reason I do say it felt like we were discriminated against is because we got moved twice. The service that Cesar provided felt uncomfortable. It felt like he purposely avoided us, he would check on others except us as if we were pushed to his section, and he had to be FORCED to give us service, which he didn't even do besides bringing our food and charging us. Absolutely no conversation of asking how we were doing, if we needed anything, nothing. For example, when we needed napkins or refills, he was nowhere near us. The way he avoided our table and service felt personal. I, however, tipped him well since it's the holidays.I wanted to end with something positive: the waitress in the back who got us water and coffee was really kind to us, and I saw her walking around and asking others what they needed, etc. However, if you're of Latino descent, have anyone with a disability, or support anyone who has a disability, please listen. I would strongly avoid this place at all costs.
