“Best wine tasting experience we have had in a very long time! We were greeted by two friendly beautiful family dogs. We met Marcos the owner's son and had a very wonderful conversation. The we went to the tasting room and we were treated with a very warm friendly smile from the daughter. She did an excellent job of explaining the different flight options. We sat down and began are tasting experience. The flight's were amazing between the whites and the reds, best varieties and flavors within the flight. The daughter timed it perfect and we never had to wait for our next tasting. She did an excellent job explaining the different wines and where they came from. In between pours provided great conversation and warm smiles. We then went over to the gazebo overlooking the area and enjoyed the best fire cooked pizza! The owner came over and talked to us and introduced us to his lovely wife. We enjoyed a great conversation. The owner share his hear and vision for the winery. He asked if we were taken care of and needed anything. Over all it was such a pleasant experience at a value you can't find anywhere else. The pricing options were excellent and the varieties we're out of this world! Let's just say there is a little piece of Italy in Somerset! Perfect ambiance and beautiful hosts! We definitely will be coming back and if you need to get away from it all and get a great value for your money..THIS IS THE GO TO! Thank you Mastroserio Winery, two thumbs up and 10 stars! “My husband and I were craving Chinese food so we headed up to Placerville to try the restaurant on Placerville Dr only to find out it was closed due to damage from a car. So we googled other locations close by and ended up at Grand China. We've lived in EDC for years and never knew that it was even there. Since this is on the back side of the shopping center and can be easily missed. I have to say the food was excellent, it was so tasty and light, not greasy at all like many other restaurants! The owner and wait staff were so nice, the atmosphere was great too. The portions were generous and I was actually so happy that we had leftovers to take home and enjoy again.We'll definitely be back to this hidden treasure behind Mickey D's!! ?“

“We had a great visit to this winery. It's situated right off the road and the first thing you see was the dog sculpture.

Our host Mack did an incredible job with our wine tasting for our large group. We were seated outside and he led us through the tasting with funny stories and even brought out other wines for us to try. We learned a lot about the winery and the history of winemaking in Plymouth.
We even tried the wine slushy, which was delicious.

The charcuterie plate that accompanied our wine tasting was delicious and beautifully presented too.

There was only a small bar inside for seating so we were seated outdoors. I wish there were some shade or heat lamps. The big building was closed the day of our visit. There were lots of benches and seating outside but they were unprotected from the sun and wind so we were a bit cold.“

“My favorite winery in the area by a long shot. I love their wines, but the real key here is the people and place. The moment you walk through the door there is a different vibe. This is not a pretentious winery. It is one that you bring large groups to and let everyone enjoy themselves. Every wine tender you may get is easy going and fun to chat with.
The grounds are beautiful and it's easy to get an area to setup with a bottle and hangout outside. I have brought more people to this winery than literally any other and will continue to do so. Could not recommend enough.“

“Lots of great Mexican restaurants around but if you want a nice sit down and chat atmosphere then this is the place in Diamond Springs. We've been here several times and we're new to the area. Never been disappointed.
Update: Usually have the chimichanga and love it, tried the super nachos and am happy to have another tasty dish on my list. Next time, bacon avocado burger.“

““The Joy of Wine” is quite fitting.” Our intro to good wine began with a 40th anniversary trip to Amador wine country and Napa Valley.

We visited Rombauer in the Sierra Foothills in May 2024 and absorbed the beauty and serenity while sipping a couple of wines at the walk-up window. The staff was accommodating and knowledgeable. The Chardonnay was exceptional.

Since then, we learned that Rombauer is Certified California Sustainable, NAPA Green, and Fish Friendly. After another trip in August to NOTL, we upgraded to purchase only those wines that are exclusively Sustainable, Organic, or Biodynamic.

This summer we were delighted to find Rombauer Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc at our local supermarket and Total Wine store. The Chardonnay is oak aged, buttery and delightful. The Sauvignon Blanc is fruity, sweet, and refreshing.

The Rombauer Merlot and Zinfandel are also carried by our local Total Wine and are on our shopping list. We look forward to enjoying them as well. We may need to join the wine club soon!

“This winery is one of the best! We visited for a wine tasting and the gentleman was so informative about the wines and how they are harvested, we couldn’t get enough of his knowledge! The wines, all six, that we selected on our own were excellent! We will probably join the club when we get home! Also, there is a picnic area that you can purchase a charcuterie board or cheese and crackers, spreads and dips to sit down and enjoy with your bottle of wine! It’s fantastic!“

If I had anything that I would say wasn’t my favorite it would be the beer cheese dip that came with our garlic bread( bread was great). I am Irish and I expected a nice creamy cheddar cheese with a beer influence. Unfortunately, it was so spicy that I couldn’t taste anything but the heat. Maybe they should offer a milder version along with the spicy. Kinda bummed because I wouldn’t order it again. Just an idea.“

“A really great little meal spot in downtown Placerville. I stopped by here on the way back from South Lake Tahoe and I’m so glad I did. I got the Italian Pasty (which was basically a calzone with flaky pie crust instead) and it was great. Lots of good pie choices and a nice if tiny dining area with cozy decor. Would stop by again!“

“The last visit was the end of 21. We decided to try again, and am I glad we did! Friendly lady answered the phone, took my to go order. We ordered egg rolls(which were really spring rolls), pot stickers that were stuffed full and very delicious, bbq pork chow mein(noodles were more like chow fun), honey walnut prawns that were absolutely delicious, sweet and sour pork absolutely delicious, and chicken with string beans which was absolutely amazing! I am sure we have enough leftovers for a few more meals!
We will go again, absolutely will be our go to place for amazing homemade chinese food“

“I found this Take out restaurant from an article in The Sacramento Bee. Timmy's is not easy to find, but well worth the effort, It is located in a small complex on Main Street in Placerville near the Court House. The menu is very eclectic. I had the spicy prawn sandwich with a side of tater tots. Both were made fresh and served in a timely manner. The sandwich was flavorful and not overly spicy. The staff was informative and helpful. The prices were a bit high but well worth it for the quality.“

Has Tomatoes on it which have lots of water.

“Unbelievable food! I am so excited to have discovered this foothill gem on a whim. The Place is a little out of the way, but WELL worth the trip. It wouldn't be a stretch to say this is the best food in El Dorado County. The cuisine is Italian fusion rather than straight Italian, but it works incredibly well! Make sure you start with the Piemontese Bagna Cauda (AKA "Hot Bath"). It's the best flat bread you'll ever have, without hyperbole: crispy outside, wonderfully doughy inside. For main courses… take your pick. The pizza— traditional Napoli Italian style— is perfect, no matter which one you choose. The other entrees are just as good. Don’t be put off by the use of polenta in place of traditional pasta. I was skeptical at first, but the first bite washed away all misgivings. These people know how to cook! Bene, Cirino’s, Sergio’s, Three Forks… all the best Italian places in the foothills will have to fight for second place.“
