“We had someone from a winery recommend a winery, that had sparkling wine. We met Ed and Ramone. Ed the winemaker was busy, but spoke to us about his style of wine making. Very interesting. Ramone was very helpful and friendly. We had a nice time and will probably go back, next time we are up in the Foothills.“

“The Burke Family Restaurant is in the historic Ione Hotel. Very antique looking and very clean. The hand made bread and food was fantastic. I had a chicken pizza backed on handmade sourdough bread...tasted great. The prices are very low for the quality of the food and service. We've eaten there many times and we'll be back.“

I don't drink so doesn't wine taste with my GFs. But, upon arrival...Pros1) plenty of parking in their winery. You park in the gravel and have to walk a little ways to the winery. It's a beautiful short walk.2) they have a beautiful outdoor seatings in the back.3) winery looked very clean. It's beautiful here!4) they have lots of items you can buy inside. Clothing, wine, cheese, etc.5) my friends said it's like $10 per person for wine tasting. But if you buy a wine bottle or lots of wine bottles, the fee goes towards it.6) it was not crowded.7) service was great! Staff was so nice and professional!8) we sat outside.9) there are 2 bathrooms outside.10) the wine was good here. Several of my GFs bought a few bottles to go.Cons1) noneConclusionI really like this winery. It's so pretty here. Lots of tables to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view. “I visited Borjon Winery for the first time, and it was lovely. They have delicious Mexican food and a wonderful selection of red wines. They are the only Mexican family owned winery in Amador and are known for their Barberas. I really liked the atmosphere and decor. It feels comfortable yet classy in their ranchero style buildings with modern interiors.We didn't have a reservation, but they were able to accommodate us for a tasting. I tried the Selección flight and really enjoyed the Barbera Selección. The tasting was outside and was really fun and relaxing on a sunny spring day. The staff were wonderful and friendly. They were knowledgeable and helpful. We'll definitely come back again!“

“We signed up for an event. My husband got an email, that it was cancelled. We drove here thinking we would just pick up and leave. We were surprised, to see the event going on as planned. They accepted our early reservation, since it changed to first come, first serve. Had room inside, which we prefer with it raining today. A good acoustic guitar and singer were playing. Wood stove pizza and delicious wine was poured. Our server Katie was experienced and very knowledgeable. This place has always been unique and surprisely fun.“

“My visit at Ione Chinese Restaurant was spectacular. Me and my family of 4 all ordered lunch. I had the General Tso's Chicken lunch (photo), which also came with rice, fried wonton, and egg flower soup. The chicken tasted phenomenal - crunchy texture, great flavor, everything about it. The rice was great, too. The soups tasted a little odd, but nothing I wouldn't eat. Service was okay. For $11-13, you get a lot of food (during lunch special). If you're not a big eater, you can definitely share one lunch plate.Highly recommend Ione Chinese Restaurant, especially during lunch!“

I must say this place is better than anything I've had here in Idaho. We should just stick to meat and potatoes. I can here it now, what the heck would you know anything about pizza? You're from middle of nowhere Idaho. Well... I'm not some ordinary hick living under a rock. I actually used to live in Cali. David's pizza, the original one, in Stockton CA is the only one that comes to mind that is better than here. I've had pies in NY, Chicago, LA, Santa Clara, Vegas, San Diego etc. Le Bistro, Wood fire brick ovens, hole in the walls, pop up illegal joints you name it.“

“Had lunch here on 12/5/2023. Ordered the Special "Sausage Omelette w/Biscuits & Gravy". Superb! The omelette was perfectly cooked, full of a particularly good sausage, with diced green bell peppers and tomatoes. The tomatoes were dry and not wet or soupy. The best surprise was the very tasty biscuits and delicious, light and well seasoned gravy. The best meal I've ever had there! I never ever order biscuits and gravy - but I won't make that mistake again!“

“Four people celebrating Mothers Day. Ordered Alaskan salmon, Filet Mignon, Chefs Special Tri Tip sandwich, Louie Burger. Salmon was just ok, Filet Mignon was very expensive, small size, and not tender at medium cooked, burger was just warm and tasted fine, Tri Tip sandwich was very good. Ordered four alcohol type drinks and one never came, but was not charged for it and our waiter made it right by bringing it to the table at the end of our meal. All the doors were open to the outside all around the bar and restaurant area which is very nice, but brought a fly to our table. We spent the whole meal swatting it away. Asked for a fly swatter, but they must have thought we were joking. When leaving we saw someone had a fly fan on their table. Wonder why we didn't get one since we were very close to the open doors. Our waiter was Robert and we have had him many times in the past. He remembered us right away and he gives good service. We did have a good time though.“
