Bare Roots Coffee & Kava Lounge

Ordered coffee beans online. No email confirmation. I tried calling more than once, not picking up. At least let me know what's going on with my order.if you cannot fulfill my order how i asked initially just tell me, thats okay, I could have gone elsewhere. I just wanted to try the different beans you offer.

I dont even know how much time passed by, still no coffee beans. I will have to call my bank to get the charge disputed. No point of waiting if I still won't receive an order.

Very disappointing experience. The staff clearly don’t seem interested in working or providing good service. We waited over an hour just to get our breakfast, and when it finally arrived, they got the order wrong and didn’t even bring half of what we had ordered. The service was extremely slow and disorganized. I would not recommend this place at all.

Super groovy and really awesome coffee shop with lots of plants and interesting decor.

Wanted to have the Breakfast Bomb listed on their menu but was told they no longer sell it. Americano was weak. No place to lock my bike- please fix this!

I visited Bare Roots Coffee & Kava Lounge recently and found the interior atmosphere and concept to be quite interesting. The shop has a thoughtfully curated aesthetic, with a mix of décor elements that make it feel more like a creative lounge than a typical coffee shop. There are also various items on display and for sale, including succulents, handmade crafts, and local artwork, which gives the space a distinctive and artistic vibe. It is the kind of place where you can comfortably sit, relax, and browse the surroundings.

However, my overall experience was significantly affected by the quality of the coffee. Unfortunately, I found the coffee to be disappointing. Given that the shop appears to roast its own beans, I initially had high expectations that the drinks would be carefully crafted and well balanced. In my case, the coffee tasted quite diluted and watery, as if the brew ratio or extraction was not properly optimized. The flavor lacked depth and body, which made it less enjoyable than expected.

It is a pity because the space itself has strong potential. The atmosphere, décor, and creative elements are all well executed and make the café stand out visually and conceptually. If the coffee quality could match the strength of the environment, this place could easily be a much more compelling destination for coffee lovers.

Overall, I appreciated the design and concept of Bare Roots Coffee & Kava Lounge, but I was ultimately disappointed by the beverage quality. I hope the coffee preparation can be improved in the future, because the foundation of the café experience is already quite strong.

I absolutely adore this cafe and make it a point to drop by whenever I am in the area. I recently spent a few nights in the backcountry with my partner, and I told him I needed this to be our first stop once we got back to the car. The coffee has yet to disappoint! Im especially a big fan of the classic vanilla latte and toasted marshmallow latte. The plants inside are such a cute touch, and the staff are super friendly. Highly recommend!

Amazing drinks! Kava is not strong and is very smooth.

I really loved visiting Bare Roots Coffee. I enjoyed the Breakfast Bomb and the Tahoe Delight Latte. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, being surrounded by so many beautiful plants. I highly recommend Bare Roots when visiting Lake Tahoe

By far the Best Coffee in South Lake Tahoe . The staff are always friendly with a warm greeting. PLENTY OF SEATING INSIDE AND OUTSIDE .I love this place so much I drink Bare Roots Coffee Daily ! So good . The owner is super rad also . I talk to him a lot , he seems to really know what he is doing with coffee roasting. Their Espresso is on point . Always producing a delicious cup of coffee…. Notes of caramel, chocolate, toffee , and some are a smooth fruit flavor with a back note of chocolate. I recommend this place to anyone living or visiting South Lake Tahoe. Cheers ☕️🤙

2nd worst latte I've had in my life 🤢 the espresso tasted burnt. The barista was really unfriendly and there was not enough seating to accommodate. I was already thinking the latte was overpriced, and then I tasted it and didn't end up finishing it, it was that bad.

They offer Unique and delightful coffee flavours. The hosts are very friendly, welcoming and more than willing to help you with questions.

I had breakfast and coffee here this morning. I got the breakfast bomb and a decaf cortado. Food and coffee were great! Very friendly and welcoming staff. I love all the plants.
