The Grove Beach Bar & Grill

First off, before you read this review I'd like you to know that I manage a hotel and work within hospitality and understand all that comes with that.
With that being said, the server Jess gave the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life. She yelled at my partner in the middle of restaurant and flipped her off just because she asked for the bill and stated we didn't enjoy the service we received. The reason we didn't enjoy the service before we were yelled at was because we waited 30 minutes for clam chowder and then when it got to the table it was cold so we had to wait another 10 minutes for a replacement. All in all we waited 40 minutes for our food that wasn't great even once it was warm and experienced horrible customer service afterwards.
Had that been an employee at the business i manage
1 can tell you I wouldn't want someone like that serving my guests. The manager Tracy was wonderful and empathetic and took care of our bill but please think twice before dining with a place that would employ someone like Jess who treats paying customers like they deserve to be yelled at and flipped off.

Honestly the reviews were misleading. It's a nice view of the lake but whoever said it was the best calamari they have had in their life must have been 10 yrs old. The calamari looks like mozzarella sticks, over breaded and fried with strips of what looks like processed calamari inside. The wedge salad was good. But not the best I have ever had. Don't expect too much from the food but the atmosphere is lively and there is a small beach and dock outside.

We only stopped for a drink. You go to the bar on your own and seat yourself in the bar area. When it is self serve and no one checks on you, always give a 3. No complaints, just not a served model. Sitting on the water was nice. Drinks are pricey for what you get. Still, enjoyable after a day on the trails.

The perfect spot to eat dinner overlooking the lake! We had the Brussels sprouts which were phenomenal!!!! The hummus, and the BLAT. The appetizers were better than the BLAT but still great! We loved it!

Sadly disappointed in the new calamari. SO sad that the new owners changed the recipe. What used to be one of the most sought after and delicious foods here, has now turned into a grade school lunch and tastes worse than your frozen fish sticks from the supermarket.

I’ve always wanted to stop there during my trips to Tahoe but was always in the neighborhood between meal times. Finally timed it right last Wed and so glad! My friend and I were there for lunch shortly after it opened before it got crowded and both ordered the watermelon salad…so delicious, so refreshing. Would love their plain balsamic dressing recipe. It was a perfect compliment to the fruit. Our table was next to the railing so we had an unobstructed view of the lake. Wish I knew our server’s name. He was very attentive and provided great service. All in all a great place and will definitely go back next time I’m at the Lake!
