We had a 745pm reservation on a Friday night. We arrived a bit early and our table was not yet ready and since the place is really small we had to wait outside and the heater was out of gas so we were out in the cold (it was raining and was 39°F) for about 10 minutes. We were asked if we wanted bread - garlic bread or another option - we ordered the garlic bread which was good when it came out warm and fresh, however, got cold easily. After 4 days in South Tahoe, all I can say is the food doesn’t even come close to other popular ski towns. Our only exception so far is Cafe Fiore. We didn’t know what to expect walking into the very small, ~12 person dining area but were very pleasantly surprised by the food. The pasta was all cooked very well, but what stood out was the freshness of the ingredients and the sauces. Many times, pasta is over sauced with over powering flavor. Had reservations for a friend's birthday at 8:30pm on a Friday, was greeted by Ed our server, who was very attentive and friendly. I'd never been here before but am happy I got the chance to try it out. This spot is quaint with half only a dozen tables! We ordered 2 of the specials and 2 other menu items.
