Freshies Ohana Restaurant & Bar

The location and setting aren’t much, but the food and service have consistently MORE than made up for the (lack of) ambiance! It has been two years since our last visit, and they continue to create wonderful dishes. Plus, they have Pliny on tap!

Their food is amazing. It's even better, when the deck is open, you get a great view of the lake. The deck is closed now till spring.

Lovely staff and incredible vegan tofu taco plate! 4 tacos, rice, beans, salad, sauce! Then onto the huge peanut butter, chocolate tofu slice for dessert! Good price for one.. and relaxed vibe!

My husband has the tempah BBQ hoagie, and loved it. I had the Mana loaf with gravy and rice, delicious. Upstairs outside seating isn't open after labor day, just so you know. Quirky spot too but with a stop.

I don't recommend going to this restaurant. They don't care about their customers. They belittle them and keep them waiting. The food they make tastes terrible and is unhygienic.

Wonderful fish taco's!! Wonderful service!! Wonderful atmosphere!!! Visit freshies every chance you get!! My waitress was on her first day, first table, I believe her name is Nas .. I know I'm probably spelling her name wrong.. she has exceptional service skills, go see her and tip big!!

We ordered ribs dinner and jerk chicken burger. The ribs are 10/10 and jerk chicken is 6/10 because it’s a little over cook and dry. The server is friendly. Good spot for Hawaiian food

They have several vegans options as well as dessert. I got the buffalo cauliflower tacos and they were the best Ive had.

This place is great! We got the Hawaiian plate with blackened cod, mac salad and fries. Also I tried the buffalo cauliflower tacos and they were sooo good. The service was great. We are in town for two days and already taking about coming back.

I had an excellent experience at Freshies. The fish tacos were outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The staff was not only friendly but also very attentive, making sure all my needs were met. The restaurant itself was spotless, with a welcoming atmosphere, good music, and an overall great vibe. If you’re in the South Lake Tahoe area, this is a must-visit spot to grab a meal. Highly recommend!

Great vibes and great for celiac! Majority of their menu is gluten free and they have a gluten free fryer. We had the Croquettes, Calamari Steak, Ahi Taco plate and fish and chips - all were incredible! Don’t skip the coconut limeade!

We came because we were impressed by the number of vegan options on the menu. The food was good however one of the apps and one of the entrees came with shrimp and chicken instead of the vegan options we ordered. The staff did try to make it right. Overall good by i wish they were more careful with the food preparation.

Just to precise : Not judging the food here.
We went with my family (6ppl), the first waitress we saw told us to wait 30min for a table, so okay no problem we didn't made a reservation, its fine.
After, she led us to a first table, so that we can at least drink something while waiting for a bigger one to be available. Then, what was our surprise when we learned that we couldn't be all together and had to be separated into two tables ?
We tried to squeeze to all fit but it really wasn't possible, so I tried to move to the smaller side to be 2_1_2 but I was in the way so they asked me to move to the other table.
We tried to explained them that at least they could've told us from the beginning, that it was not professional (and I know what I talk about I've been a waitress myself since 4 years) after they let us wait up to 40 45min, and the second waitress suggested that we could leave !
So unfortunately we left, the food looked so good and location amazing for sunset, but we didn't had a choice.
Sorry about that.

It was so good we ate here twice during our week’s stay. The Blackened and Teriyaki Halibut plate were both delicious. A very generous portion of halibut served over rice. The house salad was very fresh and the tri fries were fantastic too.

We heard people raving about their fish tacos too.
