Grand Central Pizza & Pasta

Food is exceptionally good - no complaints. Just a little overpriced which is to be expected in this tourist town. Plus, I ran into issues with their online ordering system which required me to call and place my order instead... all in all, I think k this place is great.. and I will return again and again..

The worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had in south lake. We waited for an hour to get our food after ordering, and were not notified of any kind of delay. We ended up taking our food to go due the amount of time it took, and when we got home all of the mozzarella sticks were hollow. We paid $88 before tip for 2 pasta dishes and an appetizer of mozzarella sticks and the portions were tiny. A $30 pasta dish should be big no? My wife even found a hair in hers. All around, poor customer service and disappointing food. Have never written an online review, but felt the need to share our experience so others don’t make the same mistake. We’ve been going to grand central our whole lives and the quality has dropped off a cliff.

I know they are a small business and I hate to leave this review, but the food was extremely expensive and just not good at all. The crust had the texture of being from the freezer section. My jaw hit the floor when I received the bill.

Great food. Terrible service everytime. Especially today. Server never stopped to ask if anything was needed after he left our food. I had to ask 3 times for refills on drinks because he kept forgetting. It wasn't busy in the restaurant there was only 1 other table besides us but he was too busy talking to his friend at the bar. I only keep going back because the food is good.

The most expensive pizza place I have ever eaten at… they are like a bare and switch place! I ordered a Caesar salad… price $16.05 but wait there’s more… you want dressing on it oh that an additional .96 cents. You want a pizza with 3 toppings ok that $20 something but wait now it’s $1.80 per topping wait you wanted half the pizza with pepperoni, olives and onions and the other half sausage, mushrooms and onions so they charged us for 5 toppings even though they were only on half the pizza. Now add that we had 6 at our table … automatic 20% tip! Oh and guess what you want silverware you have to ask for it. Oh and a bottle of beer $9 bucks…. Oh and the Caesar salad was not great they use powder cheese. Not going back that’s for sure!

What kind of pizza place doesn't even deliver there own pizza.... now its only through door dash or such, they dont have there own drivers! They are underemployed even though the food is good seems like its too much for them now to have good delivery drivers or fast service ... bummers

This place has gone from a beloved local pizza place to a bottom of the barrel restaurant with terrible food and even worse service. Super disappointing how far this place has declined from the old ownership. It’s always empty when I go in there and that’s not surprising at all. I was in there yesterday and it was 5 mins before we even saw a worker. The one couple in a restaurant had to go back to the kitchen to get someone’s attention.

Pizza WAS one of the best in Tahoe. We came here often but this will be our last. Restaurant was empty. 30 minutes to get pizza with pizza guy in the back on his cell phone AND TOUCHING THE DOUGH. Last couple times here was not impressed. Pizza not very good anymore. People walk in, nobody to help them and they walk out. Beer from the tap was not cold. Pick someplace else....

TLDR: they charge auto 20% gratuity on pick up orders on top of a 12% city tax.

We were visiting Tahoe and ordered two pizzas and a few orders do wings to pick up and take home. We showed up in person, placed and order and came back. For 2 pizzas and 24 wings, I paid $151. I was a bit confused because I didn’t even look at the price thinking it would be reasonable. When I looked at the receipt I even questioned the person working and he made it seem like that’s normal. I almost always tip 20% on dining in. But I have never seen 20% mandatory on to go orders. That is absurd.

As far food goes, pizza was not good. Bad actually. Wings were great
