From the moment I walked in to Nikki’s Chaat Cafe, we were greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations on what to order being a vegetarian. Now, let's talk about the food - absolutely delicious! Each dish was bursting with authentic flavors and perfectly cooked. Whether you're a fan of vegetarian curries, chow mein noodles, or tandoori naan, this place has it all and more. The presentation was top-notch, and you could tell that the chefs put a lot of care and attention into every dish. Oh the water they serve was definitely a filtered water. The atmosphere of the restaurant is inviting and cozy, with clean tables and chairs, making it a perfect place for a casual meal with friends and family.Overall, this restaurant exceeded all my expectations, and I will definitely be returning to try more of their amazing dishes. If you're looking for authentic Indian cuisine, outstanding service, and a lovely atmosphere, look no further - this place has it all!

This spot serves the most delicious Aloo Paratha! I ordered Aloo Paratha, Jeera rice, yellow dal, and mango lassi—all were fantastic. It's a must-visit whenever I'm in Tahoe!

Not a buffet on Saturdays. Nothing online or here states this. Drove from Carson City because of the reviews. Update the listing!!! 18% Dine In Gratuity Added to All Checks. Not worth it.

The guy the owner is pretty rude. We visited this during last snow. The food is not great and it's very oily. The service was pretty poor too, as once served did not even come to table to ask if we needed anything. Overall this place is strict no no for us now. The owner doesnt really know how to be courteous and a good host. That is why probably this year he has chose to provide only take out option as I am sure he must have behaved similar with others too.Vegetarian options: Not too many vegetarian options availableParking: Free parking lot but snow wasn't removed so it was too hard to find a parking spot without snow

Really good food and excellent service at Nikki's! I've been a number of times and have tried several menu options. Highly recommend!

So you wanna just have Chai and chill with your friends? DO NOT COME HERE. They will absolutely judge you for ordering just Chai and they automatically assume you only wanna have Chai and outright refuse service the next time you visit. Absolutely abysmal service and rude and condescending owners. These people shouldn't be in the service industry IMHO.

My whole family loves this place and we make it a point to visit every time we’re in the Lake Tahoe area. Their food is markedly different from the Indian restaurants in our home town, but it’s equally amazing. The papadams are the best I’ve ever had. The mango chicken is phenomenal, the butter chicken is very savory, and the madras chicken is wonderful.Kid-friendliness: The staff have always been very friendly and accommodating of my whole family including my kids who are now ~10 years old. We’ve been going since they were ~5. Definitely a family friendly place in our experience.

Came here for a lunch with a couple other families. Initially, the server mentioned that we could not join tables, so we planned to separate the group amongst 3 tables. We then found another table that was larger (we had not ordered or even looked at menus yet, so decided to sit there. There was also only 4 more other people in the entire restaurant at that time). Immediately the server was rude and condescending to us, making remarks such as arguing with us over our seat changing and with our group. We were in line with the restaurant policy of not joining tables which is why we found larger tables before we ordered. The experience with service was extremely negative and we ended up not wanting to dine there. Can’t comment on how the food was but as you can see from previous reviews, the owner has a history of criticizing anyone who is providing feedback or any opinion that is not aligned with his. In the interest of the public, I would recommend you train your servers better and try to learn from feedback. I’m sure I’ll get a long condescending reply for this review but would steer clear especially if you’re with a large group.
