A great burger.
From my first year in the bay area there was something special about Nation's Giant Burgers, scattered around the East Bay. A juicy patty, cheese, with the fixings a nice clump of lettuce, onions and tomato, thick slab of cheese and pickles. Great thick fries, and pies.. seriously the best pie I ever had was at a Nation's. Nation's Giant Hamburgers & Great Pies in South San Francisco is a consistently solid and clean spot. The staff is always friendly, patient, and welcoming. The food is delicious, affordable, and served in good portions with not a long wait. The atmosphere is great. Burgers, breakfast, pies, and shakes are all good, including specific items like the bacon cheeseburger, 2 egg platter, and lemon meringue pie. It is an easy place for a late night dinner, to swing by after work, or for a phone order pick-up, with many calling it the best branch.
