Dad’s Hot Dogs is a Stockton, CA, legend. They have been around since 1979. Classic 1980s hot dog counter joint complete with coin twist candy machines. But with modern feels. Not locked in time. Different owners now from the original. They use the same hot dog brand. If it ain't broke.

There was one staff person and she was a one person crew. Cashiering, putting the orders together, and cleaning up. She was helpful with a calm, pleasant easy going demeanor. I ordered a kraut dog and hubs a dog with onions, relish, tomatoes, and mustard. The dogs were on the softer side, probably left in the steamer a bit too long. Because of that, they didn't have a snap to it. But the snap is an iconic part of a quality hot dog eating experience. It is so satisfying to hear it and feel that bite. The buns tasted soft steamed as well. I also ordered the fresh squeezed lemonade. It was mild tasting and definitely tasted home made. The sauerkraut was in the perfect middle meaning not crunchy and not overly fermented to have a sour taste.

The seasonal fresh lemonade is an awesome down home touch. If you like it extra sweet, just add sugar yourself and adjust. I like it the way it was. Hubs brought on the sugar. $5 for 32 oz. They have 7 flavors beyond the original.

I am bumping my rating by a star to four; they just need to work on the hot dog rotation to make sure they do not sell any mushy dogs through closing time.“

“I got there like 10 minutes before closing and they were still happy to take my order. Friendly staff. Food was great.

Vegetarian options: Veggie burger was very good. Not sure what brand or if they make it themselves, it wasn’t Impossible or Beyond, more of like a black bean consistency“

I stopped by Raley's after picking up my twins from school because they offer fresh fruit for any students free of charge, and immediately noticed the changing Neon signs with all that they offer. Later that evening, my husband, myself, and our 3 boys entered the establishment. We were greeted immediately upon arrival, offered free games for the boys, including air hockey and foosball. The older gentleman was completely patience while we looked through their extensive yet appetizing menu. We ordered some of everything. While waiting for our food, he took the time to show us a separate room, disgusted for birthday parties, or any celebration. He even stated that we could bring our on good in, or a food truck if we preferred. My oldest ordered a cheeseburger (plain with lettuce only) and fries and rated it a 10/10. My twins ordered the same, 1 hamburger plain with ketchup only, 1 cheeseburger with lettuce only. My husband ordered a cheeseburger with mushroom and fries, he also rated it a 10/10. I myself, ordered the chicken wings bone in with habanero sauce. I also rated the chicken a 10/10 and was also given an extra side of hananero sauce upon request for an additional price. I went to order two meals and the person taking my order was so nice and patient, asked me if I needed anything else and had a huge smile on his face. Thank you so much for being so kind, so attentive and for giving us plain Ole customer service. I hope your fellow employees learn this from you. “I bye my Dad food after work. Went to A&W on Charter/Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Ordered, received my food and left. My Dad enjoyed the meal. When I arrived home I realized I left my Visa Card behind. When I called to inquire about my card, the Manager (I assume) told me he would hold it for me until the following day. When I went to pick up my card the doors were locked, but a nice gentleman worker throwing away boxes assisted me. When he handed my card back, it was in an envelope with my name on it and the gentleman proceeded to tell me that Manager put my card in the safe. What an awesome feeling to come across honest good people and I just want to give these people a big THANK YOU! To the teller at the drive thru, the Manager and the worker who assisted me. “I have childhood memories of my father would give my a break from cooking for the family. He would make hotdogs for us and send me and my brother to buy a cup of Chili from Der Wienerschnitzel for our home made dogs. I would eat there every chance I got and as I grew up and had kids of my own I took them there and my kids took their kids there. The same Wienerschnitzel is still there.“

That’s the only time I buy them. There’s no way I would pay full price for the chili dogs. The regular price is $3.19.So this was a late night run to take advantage of their one day, black Friday, sale…chili dogs for one dollar!I got my fix for a while and now I’m happy.I don’t usually go to this Wienerschnitzel but it’s actually the closest one to me and I had really great service. The chili dogs seemed like they were fairly fresh.Hopefully in a couple months they’ll have another sale!“
