We placed an order for pickup. It was for a co-worker bday. Masa opens at 530pm, they said the order will be ready by 6pm. Sure enough, it was ready before 6pm! 😁 Friendly & welcoming staff! Thank you Masa! 👏👏👏

Excellent sushi, friendly and easy to access location, and great value for the money. Have gone there several times for dinner and quality has been consistently high.

Everything here is a 10/10. The food is amazing, everything tastes super fresh and very quality. The workers are all extremely sweet and very welcoming. The atmosphere is very peaceful and soothing. Just all in all a very well balanced experienced with amazing food!!

We’ve been coming to Masa for years and it’s still our favorite sushi spot in Stockton. The quality is always top notch—the fish is fresh, the rolls are consistently amazing, and you can tell they take pride in every dish they serve. The service is just as good. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and always makes us feel welcome. It’s one of those places you can count on every single time. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great sushi and even better service!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Masa Contemporary Japanese Lounge. From the moment you walk through those signature dark red curtains, you know you’re in for something truly special. The atmosphere is unlike anything else in Stockton — intimate, mysterious, and elegant, with a warm Edo-period aesthetic that makes every visit feel like an occasion.

But the real stars here are the people. This is a family-owned gem run by genuinely passionate people who treat every guest like a friend. The owners introduce themselves personally, share honest recommendations, and go above and beyond to make sure your experience is perfect. The staff — shoutout to Jackie! — are attentive, knowledgeable, and full of warmth. You can feel the love they put into this place.

Now, the food. Wow. The Last Samurai roll is an absolute showstopper — generous slices of fresh fish, crab, crispy cucumber, and fish eggs topped with a special sauce that keeps you coming back. The Brookside Baked Roll is rich, umami-packed perfection. The takoyaki is crispy on the outside, tender inside. And the oysters? Immaculately fresh. Don’t even get me started on the eel on a hot plate — a life-changing experience.

The portions are incredibly generous, the prices are shockingly reasonable, and the quality of the fish rivals restaurants twice the price. It’s no surprise Masa has won Best Sushi and Best Japanese Food in San Joaquin multiple years running.

Save room for the strawberry mochi ice cream — the perfect sweet ending to a perfect meal.

First time here and the food and service was AMAZING!! The atmosphere was peaceful and the waitress was very attentive and kind. The food was also incredibly delicious.Would definitely recommend and come back.!
