My out–of–town friend and I were seated somewhat quickly on a busy evening because we chose to sit at the bar. The bartender was friendly but exhibited the unacceptable habit of touching his hair, face, and mouth throughout the evening in plain sight of the entire restaurant and proceeded to mix drinks with whatever gunk transferred to his fingers. Jon & Vinny, where are your management skills? Do you train your managers in these basics? Manager, do you emphasize to your team that they are not at home throwing together something for themselves? Apparently not because any server should know that you do not touch your person when dealing with food and drink for the public. You have a crazy itch on your face? Do nothing. Worst case, back of wrist. Additionally, servers should not eat or drink in plain sight of guests. I observed plenty of that on this evening, as well. Remember, you are a cast member on stage.
When trying to order, I was informed that the kitchen had run out of the pasta I chose. OK, I thought about a couple alternatives to order and was also offered a pasta of my choice used in one of the preparations, but after I bit of consternation I simply settled on another pasta dish. My friend's pasta came out first. Several minutes later my pasta appeared but we both looked at it and were confused. I asked the runner if it could possibly belong to another table. She also looked confused and walked away with it. The bartender seemed to be discussing my situation with someone else nearby (from the kitchen?). I asked if there was a problem and he came over and said he told me the pasta would be bucatini (or told me something to that effect). Bucatini?! I dislike bucatini and never eat or order it! So now is the bartender gaslighting me or confusing me with something he said to some other guest? My friend practically finished his pasta by the time what I had ordered finally appeared. Needless to say, a very disappointing (and not cheap) evening at Jon and Vinny's Studio City.

Idk what all these bad reviews are about.. We loved it here! Food was fresh & hot. We came without a reservation on a Friday at 7:00 and only waited 20 minutes. Great service. 10/10 recommend!

Yummmmyyy!
A very loud atmosphere (both music and people and children). Sunday brunch atmosphere was a little bit different from what I would want but it was lively and delicious.
Their bread was amazing.
I would try to come back for weekdays brunch and dinner sometimes!

My wife and I had reservations for our anniversary. I wanted to make it a little extra special so I called ahead and had the pleasure of speaking with the manager, Yesenia who was very accommodating and allowed me to bring a small vase of flowers and a card I had written for my wife to be presented to her upon our seating. Jasmine, the host when we arrived was very sweet and had them set-up for us upon our arrival. Our server, Jackie was very kind and personable and really helped our night be special with her attentive service. Dan, her teammate was also a wonderful to our service that night and checked in on us periodically and helped us receive last minute requests of ours throughout the night. Everyone was very welcoming and had a great attitude!!
Now the food, my thumbs are done typing so all that needs to be said is that there isn’t a bad dish that we’ve tried on the menu from the wings to the garlic bread to the margherita pizza, everything was of great quality and prepared to perfection!!

The service was piss poor. Staff was not friendly and in fact they were annoyed we were standing at the hostess stand to check in for our reservation. Table was ready 30 minutes late.. and the restaurant was empty. No vibe. No music. Save yourself $200 and go to Mercado.

Jon & Vinny’s catered my birthday dinner and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! The team (Alex to be specific) made the ordering process easy and efficient, and was always responsive to my many questions leading up to the event. The pizza, pasta, and salad were delicious - as expected of the Jon & Vinny’s brand - and my guests were super impressed. I would most definitely recommend Jon & Vinny’s Studio City to anyone for dine in or for catering.

Had to wait for a table even though it was empty inside, one couple ahead of us, and then Nicole Ritchie walks in after and they give her special treatment and seat her first, I left before being seated

Came here for anniversary dinner with my wife because we've been talking about coming to Jon and Vinny's for awhile now.
Ambiance is definitely busy and electric. Feels kinda how I imagine an Italian spot in NY would feel, but in LA.
The bruschetta with heirloom tomatoes and basil was perfection. The bread that comes out is a thick slice and is grilled for smoky flavor.
We had the Roman gladiator pizza, and the crust was perfectly well done. I personally love my pizza crust on the more charred and burnt side versus still being doughy or undercooked.
We had the spicy fusili pasta, which reminded me a bit like adult chef boyardee on first taste, and then left my palate with a long lasting spiciness that I found hard to believe was just achieved by using red chili peppers.
I ordered the wine marinated prime sirloin and man this needs to be taken off the menu. It was so overly caramelized and lacking in seasoning that it tasted like a honey covered piece of meat. Absolutely disgusting way to prepare and serve steak.

Food was good. Very small pasta portions. Service was horrible. Went for Lunch & restaurant was half full. After we received our food we never saw our server again until it was time for the bill. This type of service won’t last long in Studio City.

I know this is a new spot and they still have time to grow; that being said, all of my stars are essentially for the food and the look of the bar itself (which is beautiful). I’ve been in three times since opening, hoping to have a different experience, but unfortunately the staff are inattentive and the service is just not up to the caliber of the food.
I do think they can turn things around, but it feels frustrating to charge 18 dollars for an Aperol spritz and then forget to bring it over until our meal was almost done. Even sitting at the bar, the lack of attention is almost comical. I’ve been there when the staff outnumbers the patrons and still, the service suffers.
All in all, I feel if you’re going to charge as much as they are, the experience should mirror the elevated prices. Hope they can figure things out.
