Was highly recommended for me to come here from a close friend and definitely lived up to the praise she gave. The service was amazing and food was great. Our server and barkeep was Scott and he was wonderful and made the experience there so much better. The ambiance was great too, I love quiet and intimate spaces where you can truly focus on whomever your with without have to speak over loud music or heavy chatter. Lighting really elevated the feel as well. Price wise, itd be considered pricier than normal but I do think it's worth it. Will definitely be coming back.

Had a reservation for 8:45. We arrived a little early and we're told "there's a few parties ahead of you so it'll be just a few minutes." Ok, no sweat. Cut to 9:15pm and we're still waiting, no apologies or communication from the host whatsoever. Meanwhile a party is let in ahead of everyone right away because they knew a bartender? Okay. Clearly the 2 hour seating limit isn't managed at all. At 9:20 we were told we could sit at the bar. Again no apologies, no "thanks for your patience", nothing. It then takes another 15 mins to get our order taken. Not a very premium liquor selection. Our drinks arrive and mine gets spilled all over the bar by the bartender. Instead of remaking my drink, the half spilled glass gets topped up with the non-liquor ingredients. Cool. At this point it's last call lol and we get one more drink (so 2 total). As we're attempting to leave, the exit door to the speakeasy is sticking and has a weird sliding knob handle. Clearly the door is too big for the frame. So my friend and I are trying to figure out how to get out and a server tell us to push harder snarkily says "yeah it can be difficult after so many drinks." ...you mean the 1.5 we were able to get down before last call because half our reservation was spent waiting in the lobby?? Okay bro. Anyways, this place blows and staff is rude.

This place is a hidden gem in LA. Go on Mon-Thu and ask for Scott. An amazing experience. One of the most creative drink lists we've ever seen. Staff is phenomenal and you will count this among your bucket list experiences!

Love the Sinatra era captured! Love the live music and vibe! Cocktail options were great!

I was looking for quiet place to meet close friends for a cocktail and maybe dinner. We needed a quiet place. Everything about the Rendition Room fit our needs. I did not know that there was this whole prohibition speakeasy club vibe going on. This was a pleasant surprise. The cocktails were excellent The food was good and the server was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I like the idea of getting into the restaurant by going through a door way that looks like a bookcase. It was fun. I will go back.

Rendition Room is perfect for date night. Tt might be a great first-date spot, but it's probably more like the ideal 3rd date spot. It's quiet, dimly lit and small. You really do feel special to be sitting at a table or booth inside. Service was outstanding - from the hostess at Vitello's who checked us in, to our waitress who took care of us all night. Soft jazz is playing in the background, but the overall vibe is subdued. I was under the impression that this would be more of an experience. For some reason, I thought there would be more interaction with the mixologists and recommendations based on your tastes, but it was just like ordering a drink anywhere else. However, I'm sure our server would've been happy to offer suggestions had we asked. I read some other reviews that made it sound like there was no menu at all and the bartender just created drinks based on what we said we liked so I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't so much. That said, the cocktails we ordered were all tasty and pretty to look at. My favorite was the Mood Indigo. This place walks a fine line of feeling exclusive, but not being stuffy at all and even with the absence of more personalized experience, I still had a great time as their guest.

Took us a while to be able to snag a reservation here. We had to wait a solid 20 minutes in the lobby which wasn't ideal. Then we we entered in there was another group in the room so the whole opening book case was spoiled. But all that aside, the room itself was a very cool vibe. Very classy old school feel. Drinks were pretty solid. I went for the penicillin (I believe it was called Doctors Orders?), which they made very well!

I will say right off the bat that the cocktails were excellent and the bartender was very nice in terms of service and recommendations. On February 26th, I had made a reservation for this bar for Saturday March 9th. I was called by this establishment 5 days before the reservation time, on March 4th, to tell me that my reservation had to be cancelled or moved because a private party booked out the entire venue. Apparently they require a 2 weeks notice to book it, but allowed me to book it and then tell me less than a week before that I had to adjust my plans. I'm lucky enough to be in a position to do so, so I said whatever and my reservation was moved to March 23rd for 8:45 PM instead. They chose this time and registered it for me on their system while I was on the phone with them. I did not book this by myself. The day of my reservation, I get an automated reminder text saying that I have a reservation at 8:45 PM on March 23rd, so I at least have proof that that was the agreed upon time. When my group arrives at the restaurant at 8:45 PM, nobody was at the front, so I walked to where the Rendition Room is and was told by someone coming out the door that I have to be registered at the front. Kind of annoying that nobody is there but whatever. When they finally stopped chit-chatting with another employee, they went to check on the status of my reservation and I was told that in their system, my reservation was supposed to be at 6:45, not 8:45. At first there was an implication from the employee that I had made a mistake and that I was in the wrong, but luckily I had the text to show them that Yelp indeed had me registered for 8:45 PM. After this revelation, the employee still refused to apologize to my group and instead shifted to blaming how finicky the system is and how they're having tech problems and making all sorts of excuses. Which is fine, but still no apology. She did not bother talking to any other employee about our situation and didn't try at all to get us a table in the bar. Throughout the conversation, she kept insisting on just shooing us up to The Velvet Martini Lounge, another bar area that they have, but it's not the Rendition Room. After ascending the stairs, we asked to speak to someone else about this issue. After explaining to someone else that they had already moved my reservation 2 weeks ago and I already had a hotel room booked that night and was spending money on this visit, he went down and checked the Rendition Room to see what he could do for us. He returned a couple minutes later to tell us that a group was leaving and that they were cleaning a booth for us to sit at. That's great news for us and we agreed to wait. Every couple minutes, either the guy who I assume to be in some sort of managerial position or the rude woman in the front kept checking in on us telling us "we're almost ready to have you, we're still cleaning the table". After around 25 minutes, he finally came to us and said "we're still cleaning the table for you, but if you guys want to sit at the bar while you wait, we can do that for you." This was fine for us so we went to the Rendition Room finally ready to enjoy ourselves. By this time, it was already 9:45, an hour after our agreed upon reservation time. When we got into the room, we saw that there were zero tables available. None of them were being cleaned and they were all occupied. This guy and the girl lied to our faces. We would have been fine sitting at the bar 25 minutes earlier. Still would have been upset at the lack of a table for 4, but at least we'd be able to start enjoying the cocktails. For the rest of the night, table seating was never offered or even mentioned to us ever again. We would have been 4 people huddled around 2 bar seats with 2 sitting and 2 standing had the people next to us not decided to leave early for our sakes. I did not catch the man's name, but I believe the name of the woman who was rude to us is Morgan.

Stopped in to have a cocktail while I was waiting for a friend close by. From the moment I walked in, it felt like my kind of place. Dimly lit, low key crowd, comfy chairs and a full bar that served food. This place is really cool. The vibe and scenery is reminiscent of a speakeasy. I ordered an Amperol Spritzer as recommendation by a group at the bar. Pretty good. My favorite was the Evan Williams Old Fashion. Being my friend never made it, I tried the Margherita pizza to munch on. Super thin crust and tasty sauce. Dave, the bartender was awesome. A pleasant surprise to end the night.

One of my favorite meals + experiences I've had in LA! The drinks, service, food, and ambiance were all incredible. I got the single medallion filet mignon (incredible) and we split the bread and strawberry fields salad as a table. My friends and I had a blast - can't wait to go back soon!

I don't think we could have had a more perfect experience at The Rendition Room for date night. It really had everything, from a secretive and fun atmosphere, a fantastic host/waiter/personality guiding us through it all, super-delicious cocktails, and great vegetarian options from Vitello's menu. We've been to a few speakeasies around town (and, heck, around other towns too.) How fun is it to discover a secret door and find yourself tucked away in a room one can only imagine no one else knows about?Scott is the ultimate host, fast, detailed and so adept at preparing cocktails and making it a personal experience. It's his world...and it's a nice one to visit.I had the Doctor's Orders Cocktail - mixed perfectly...smokey, scotch, and sweet. it made me very happy. My wife thought her Mayan Skies (tequila-based with mango and more) was also pretty and tasty. We were happy to have the full Vitello's menu at our disposal, especially with thoughtful vegetarian/plant-based options on it. I had the Vegan Porcini Risotto...I'm not vegan and would have been perfectly happy to have regular cheese on this, but it was still full of flavor and a good-sized portion. My wife had the Hail Caeser salad with vegan chicken. The "chicken" was nicely cooked and led to a hearty meal for her. We're one drink-a-night kind of people so we couldn't dwell there and try more...but our experience, especially with the cocktails and Scott's superb hostmanship, has us eager to come back.

I'm sorry I can't remember the names of the bartenders that took care of us, but they were fantastic. I ordered a drink off menu with an ingredient in mind and left it up to him and it was fantastic. We had the halibut and lasagna and it was delicious. Great ambiance, it was at capacity but still felt intimate. Everything was worth the price. Definitely recommend!

Love this spot. The place is quiet and intimate so it's perfect for people who want to get away from screaming in loud bars and want to enjoy a fun and calm time. The drinks are exquisitely crafted. Can't remember the bartender's name but she was amazing and attentive all night long.
