It was a perfect experience. Everyone was gentle and welcoming throughout the whole night. This was my first time and I am happy how well my first experience here came out.
The food was great, the staff was amazing, and the farm salad was impeccable, exquisite and delicious.
This experience was delicious and memorable!! The staff was friendly, kind and very attentive!!! Thank you so much!!
Came to celebrate my girlfriends birthday yesterday and the place looked amazing definitely beat my expectations everyone was so friendly , food tasted amazing and the service overall was great definitely a great experience will be back soon
Ive been hear so many times and never fails. Excellent service, delicious food and unbeatable view of Los angeles. Cant ask for more. This is so far my fave resto in LA🥰🥳👌
Really disappointed. Booked in advance to take family who's visiting from abroad. I already know food is not special but the services sucks. We were informed that window seats are not available due to the party size but will seat us later fyi theres tables that are open and they're seating other people who came after us. Manager approach us with some attitude like we can leave or wait. No empathy, it wouldn't cost him any money to be kind but I guess since he's the manager he can be a dick to customers who's paying at least 1K for the view. Servers are really nice tho but Wine lady was not very presentable. Go to Yamashiro instead of this place has a good view too. Would not recommend, my first experience was better this is my 2nd time visiting
Unfortunately, my experience with the front staff was disappointing. The receptionist was very rude when my friend and I politely asked for a photo. Her response was dismissive, and her facial expression made it clear she was unhappy to be asked. Our waitress was also unhelpful. When we asked her for a picture while we were seated, she said she would come back, but she never did. Instead, she returned only to bring us the bill, which made us feel rushed and unwelcome. Given that the location is known for its views and photos are a common request, this reaction was surprising. It felt like these two staff members were unhappy in their roles, and it showed in their service. I do want to note that the male staff members were very kind and professional, which we appreciated.
Enjoyed my birthday here and was not disappointed by course picks. The octopus ended up being a delicious surprise for my fiancé and the steak was delicious I am still thinking about it. I was looking forward to dessert and the citrus cake was a sweet surprise but the strawberries and crème took the show. I enjoyed the views, the ambiance, drinks from the bar and of course the customer service was amazing.
The food came out very slowly, took over 30 minutes for each course. The food was okay, not my favorite, also not bad. Portions were very small and we left hungry after the 3 courses, if you want enough food you definitely need to order an extra entree.
Great ambiance and excellent service. Food was great aswell. Great place to take someone special or celebrate a life event.

It was my birthday and first time in La went to 71above and I was very impressed down to the drink lol... loved everything about it and the staff who made my night by trying to be me a window table appreciate it
The ambiance and views were lovely, but the experience didn't live up to them. Despite a 7:45pm reservation, we weren't finished until 10:00pm, as service moved at a frustratingly slow pace. Having been here before, the decline in attentiveness was noticeable and disappointing. A beautiful setting, unfortunately let down by the service.
Ignored and disrespected during our special celebration We came to 71Above to celebrate a very special occasion — our wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived, I clearly explained to the staff and managers that this was an important day for us and that we were hoping for a window table. Despite this, we were repeatedly ignored. Staff barely looked in our direction, and our requests were dismissed without real attention or effort. There were many window tables visibly available throughout the evening. I politely asked multiple times, even pointing to clearly empty tables. Each time, I was told they were “reserved,” even though the restaurant's own reservation system showed that no window tables were available for reservation that night. I was willing to wait. I did wait — nearly an entire hour standing in the lobby, hoping a table would open. During that time, many window tables remained empty, yet we were never seated. Other guests who arrived after us were seated sooner and received noticeably better treatment. The experience felt humiliating. As Asian immigrants, we could not help but feel that we were treated with disregard and a lack of respect. This was not about the food or the view — it was about how we were treated as people. What should have been a joyful anniversary turned into a frustrating and painful experience. A restaurant that presents itself as fine dining should treat all guests with dignity, fairness, and basic human respect. Unfortunately, that was not the case for us.
Loved everything about our time here. We were able to get a perfect window seat watching the sunset over the ocean, love this place. Will absolutely be back.
Plans changed but still wanted to try 71Above, absolutely worth keeping on the books. Wonderful atmosphere, amazing food with wine pairing. Highly recommend for those looking for something quiet, different and intimate.
