I went there on a Wednesday evening to try their chow mein. It's at the back of the Safeway/Cherry Chase Center, lots of parking. It looks like a mostly take out place, nobody was there dining in. It's a clean table and chair setup with a slight Asian temple incense odor from an arrangement at the back of the restaurant. They have a large assortment of entrees in their steam table pans for the Express Line meals.
I ordered the House Special Combination Pan Fried Noodle to go, since I didn't want to be the only guy eating there. My food was ready in about 10 minutes and the bag felt heavy, good value. The noodles were crispy and got chewier as the gravy soaked in. The combination consisted of shrimp, beef, chicken, pork, broccoli, celery, mushroom, cabbage, green onion and onion in a mild and tasty gravy.
I was happy with my chow mein (good for 2+ meals) and would repeat for their other Cantonese dishes.
This was always my favorite place for years and years. I since moved back to this area and ordered for the first time today. And spent $60 just for the food and a $15 tip. It was the worst food I have ever had. I have always ordered the wor wonton soup and it was not for wonton soup there was no bok choy, shrimp, or barbecue pork in it. It had frozen, corn and peas, chunks of mushrooms and spinach. The fried rice meat was on the verge of going bad, the crab ragan extremely fishy, and I didn't even want to try the beef and broccoli. I was fed up and just made myself a sandwich. So I'm going to tell everybody right now be very careful when you go there I hope I don't get food poisoning from what little I ate. They need to fire that cook!!
Great variety of foods in the hot bar. You can order al a cart and cook other dishes you may want to order.
This place is very clean and friendly definitely a hidden gem in Sunnyvale I would come back more often my new favorite place 🥰🥰
Great portion sizes and good taste.
First Wok has become a once to twice a week dining experience for me. They have both a Buffet set up as well as a Regular Menu to order from. I have utilized both and can recommend their buffet dishes while also singling out their various to order items like their mu shu dishes, their seafood soup, sizzling rice with chicken soup and wonton soup along with various lo mien dishes and their seafood dishes. I love pot stickers and theirs doesn't disappoint. All in all for the pricing, I consider them a step above in the quality of their food selection.
I continue to highly recomnend them.
Regularly went here, family would go once a week or sometimes twice. Man that helped my mom and brother yelled in front of them about the tip and left my younger brother feeling very uncomfortable. Very rude, will not be coming here anymore.

Very basic and unassuming Chinese restaurant, offering take out and dine-in, even though most patrons get the food to-go. Buffet bar style that offer 10-12 items daily, one of which must be a carb item. Generous portions and a large parking lot in a Safeway plaza.
