Servers were TERRIBLE. No eye contact. Took an hour. No parking. Never go here again.

The food here was absolutely delicious! The soup was a bit on the sour side, but it actually paired really well with the bamboo shoots and still tasted great. Although the restaurant is supposed to close at 8:30, we went in around 8:15 and had no trouble ordering. It’s really close to AMC, so it’s the perfect spot to fill up before catching a movie. Super satisfying and definitely recommend!

Truly a hidden gem!!!
Once I discovered this restaurant, i went back to eat there a few days later.
There are so many dishes that I can't wait to try.
The mapo tofu is numbingly addictive.
The cabbage & pork dish was perfect in it's simplicity, while the pork belly with preserved veggies and steamed buns was a nice little treat.
The service is fast and the wait staff are friendly and attentive.
The interior of the restaurant is really cute with chinese fortunes on the wall and nice floral scrolls.

Delicious food for spice lovers!! Good ambience and great service!
The house special spicy grilled catfish is the highlight. The stew is spicy with all the vegetables and they put the whole fish. Fun to eat. Liked the lazy Susan turntables

Food is very flavorful like the other reviews mention. Tried Hunan style sautéed beef with rice on a weekend. I’d like to go back to try their other dishes.

The food are very rough. The pot stickers are salty. The braised pork is the worst I have ever eaten. The fat is greasy, and the lean meat is hard to chew. Wouldn't go there anymore.

Nice service, nice taste, and they provide spicy enough dishes. I recommend this restaurant. Also with fair prices.

Nice Hunan dishes, and not too spicy. Recommend braised beef combination!

Takeout is soooo freaking slow! 3 dishes took us more than an hour!

Hunan House has become our go-to spot for Chinese cuisine in the Bay Area. We’ve dined here countless times, and it never disappoints. The dishes are packed with flavor and served in generous portions, making every visit a satisfying experience.

Hunan House is a fantastic spot for anyone craving authentic Hunan cuisine! The flavors are bold, the spice levels are just right, and the menu offers a great variety of traditional dishes. Their spicy grilled catfish is a must-try—perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The fried buns were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, making for a delicious side.

The atmosphere is cozy yet casual, making it a great place for both small gatherings and family dinners. The service was friendly and efficient, even during peak hours. Prices are reasonable ($20–$30 per person), considering the quality and portion sizes.

If you love spicy and flavorful food, Hunan House is definitely worth a visit! I’ll be coming back to try more dishes soon.
