It does not have a luxurious decor but when u see the chef is out and about checking guests at each table, you know this is going to be a great dinning experience. Don't let the word "vegetarian" turn you off. There are plenty of wonderful dishes: Fresh spring rolls, Thai soup, seaweed salad, green papaya salad and more!!

We have eaten here many times. There is always fantastic vegan food! But the ordering experience is a bit messy.

There were so many options and something for everybody. My friend wanted something ultra healthy with no oil, and he had steamed kale, steamed veggies, steamed tofu and brown rice. I had spicy noodle soup. It was all delicious, was served really quickly, and the staff were lovely.

Excellent tasting pan-asian cuisine: Jain options can be customized. Staff is well versed in describing jain options that are available aplenty throughout the menu.

Title: A Vegetarian Haven in the Heart of SunnyvaleRating: ★★★★★ (5/5)I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Merit Vegetarian Restaurant in Sunnyvale, California, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. This culinary oasis in the heart of Silicon Valley delivers an impressive range of sumptuous vegetarian and vegan fare that does not compromise on flavor, creativity, or satisfaction.First and foremost, the Pad Thai is a must-try. This dish, a classic staple of Thai cuisine, has been masterfully recreated to suit a plant-based diet without losing any of the traditional zest or flair. The tangle of noodles was cooked to perfection, beautifully interspersed with an assortment of colorful, crunchy vegetables. Tossed in a tangy tamarind sauce that balanced sweet, sour, and umami notes, it was garnished with crushed peanuts adding a delightful crunch and depth to the overall flavor profile. The Vermicelli Curry Soup was another revelation. The soup, a hearty amalgam of vibrant spices, was comforting and packed a robust flavor punch. The vermicelli was delicate, offering a contrast to the powerful curry broth. The complexity of flavors built with each mouthful, warming and surprising the palate in equal measure. It was the perfect amalgamation of spices, textures, and warmth. Finally, the Papaya Salad served as a fresh, zingy contrast to the other dishes. It was a riot of flavors and textures: the crunch of the shredded unripe papaya, the tanginess of the lime, and the mild heat from the chili combined to create an explosion of flavors in the mouth. It was vibrant, refreshing, and the perfect palate cleanser. One cannot review Merit Vegetarian without mentioning the warm and hospitable staff. They were attentive without being intrusive, always ready with a suggestion and ensuring we were comfortable throughout our dining experience. In conclusion, Merit Vegetarian is a true gem in Sunnyvale's culinary scene, a sanctuary for vegetarians and vegans alike, and a tantalizing surprise for meat-eaters. It is a place where you can discover that vegetarian cuisine can be hearty, delicious, and leaves you fully satiated. Whether you're a long-time vegetarian or just curious about plant-based cuisine, Merit Vegetarian is definitely worth a visit.Vegetarian options: All Vegan

Never go here. Yikess... We did a pick up order of fresh rolls. when started eating the peanut sauce was full of noodles n veggies, it felt they had reused sauces already dipped by others. This tells quite a bit about the operations n general hygiene

Merit was a great place as a full vegan restaurant. If you have any friends with those dietary restrictions, do not hesitate to take them here.Heck, even if they don't have the dietary restrictions, take them here anyways. It's great food at great prices. The establishment itself is not as maintained but the place definitely has its charm. The portions are filling, though you must buy the rice separately, they do give you a well above average portion.

You don't need to be vegan to enjoy Merit. The food is delicious and the menu variety is large. Being new to veganism, I was pleased that everything on the menu is vegan. We had the dish called "Queens" which had a soy protein "meat" on fresh spinach and caramelized onions in a savory sauce. It was very tasty. The texture is similar enough to meat for my tastes. I don't know how a meat lover would feel. The lotus salad was lovely, tangy and crunchy. The curry with pumpkin was good. There was a bit too much sauce for me. I liked the flavor but will probably pick something different next time. The pumpkin cheesecake was delicious and lighter than the dense New York cheesecake made with cream cheese. I consider this lighter version a plus, much nicer. I'm excited to go back and try more items on the menu. The wait staff were friendly. The atmosphere is casual.Vegetarian options: All vegan! You can't go wrong.

Editing my previous review: This has been my favorite restaurant but to my surprise and shock, we found a worm on our spring roll yesterday. I had already eaten a few pieces and we sent it back. I came back home and had a bad stomach ache later. Unfortunately, I won’t be going back any time soon.Old review:Hands down one of best vegan food places. They’re kind and service is great. Thank you for fresh, hot food on a cold night. ?
