I had extremely fond memories from visiting Sarvana Bhavan in Paris, and hence went here with a lot of expectations. I had ordered the Chettinad Spicy Dosa, but it was one of the worst dosas I have ever eaten. They had put bland aloo masala, raw onion and tomato in the name of Chettinad masala that had zero flavour. Even the chatnis and sambhar were bad. Washrooms were also a bit smelly and the place had a bit of a dingy feeling.
I am never visiting again and would recommend folks to try the numerous other South Indian options in Sunnyvale!

The quality of the food was the worst. Mysore dosa was below average, but, idly and rava dosa were very bad. The batter became so sour that after eating idly and mysore dosa, the aftertaste in the mouth remained sour. Two chutneys were good but the rest were very bad. The worst part was the Sunf which we usually take after food for better digestion. It was so bad that we could not eat it.

I gave this restaurant a low rating because although the food is delicious and I’ve ordered here a lot, the service and business practices are pretty terrible. I always get the same meal (through pickup) and I notice that they give something slightly different each time and different quantities. I’ve noticed that the quantity of the food has slowly decreased even though the price is still quite high. They also need to make their hours of operation clearer. I ordered food to pickup via doordash, and I went to pick up my food a few minutes after it was supposed to be ready. When I arrived, they said they were closing for an hour and turned me away. According to their business hours, they operate from 10 am to 9:30 pm on sundays, but clearly that was not the case. Typically, if a restaurant has a break in its hours of operation, doordash won’t let you order at that time, but this restaurant failed to properly advertise their hours. I wouldn’t have spent my money on food there if I had known that I wouldn’t be able to pick it up when I was told I could.

Just met a friend over lunch, she had sada masala dosa and I had onion rava masala dosa. The dosa was ultra crispy so it felt like eating papad. The rava masala had a mix of crunchy and non crunchy parts - which was not bad, but made it difficult to eat. Ideally it would have some crunch and some softer parts. Anyways, the chutneys were meh, sambhaar was meh. the filter coffee was meh as well. Can't help but compare to Madras cafe, which is better is all these aspects.

I highly recommend trying this place out for South Indian food. It's a no frills place that gets the basics right but I wish they updated their menu to be accurate: for eg on the menu they say that combo meals are not available for dinner, but in actuality they are. Or that the dosa of the day is not really a thing even though it's on the menu. The atmosphere could be better too.

The experience we had with this restaurant is mixed.
First of all the food was good. We had veg biriyani, onion uthappam, mixed vegetables porotta, masala dosa, porotta and veg curry.
Service was terrific. We waited there for more than half an hour to get the first dish and there is another 10 mins each waiting to get other items. At the last they missed one item and when we say that, a person with spects ( looks like manager) come and saying, you would have to inform the missing item upfront, then we would have served you pretty fast.. which makes no sense to me and no restaurants service person has ever said like this.. Funny thing is we waited for another 10 more minutes to get the bill :)
Apart from that they charged 17% gratuity on the bill since we were of 9 ppl team.

The waiters were ok, but one of them, I believe that he was the manager, was extremely rude and overly arrogant. The table was full, so we had to move our used plates onto another table, and this man had a problem. He said that we should not place the used plates on another table, when it is his and his team's responsibility to pick them up. After a long wait, he asked what we were missing after a while hour. He was angry when we were trying to ask why it took so long. The long wait and this rude waiter was the worst of the experience, but the price was great as well. Total came out to 226 dollars. This proves that this place is not worth the time or money.

Have been going to this place since beginning. Dined recently after renovation instead of take out. Nice to see well done interiors and efficient service however they hiked up almost doubled. Although past several times found food to be salty this time it wasn’t. They are positive comments. It’s gotten pretty expensive and sizes are cut down some menu items like sambar vada, Pongal etc. Always disappointed with their Ravva dosa. Chole Batura is served with very little chole not enough for big batura.
